Next manager
Re: Next manager
RVN has gone for plan B knowing he was no longer in the running for the Burnley job. With all due respect, well respected journalists are clutching at straws trying to keep their readers interested. Second guessing any small snippets of information they hear without ever really knowing what’s going on. Some they guess right, some they get wrong.

Yes, only the other day I overheard two chaps down the pub reminiscing about your opinions. Not the first time though.
In years to come fathers and grandfathers will delight their children and grandchildren as they recall your thoughts on the reign of that fella with the gravelly voice whose name escapes me.

Re: Next manager
If RVN wants to be a no 2 or 3 somewhere else then he definitely isn't the right man for us. I am not bothered either way about if it was him I struggled to think of many positives but also ad few negatives it felt a weird one for me to decide if he would be a good fit.
Ideally needs sorting though by the end of this week

While I do actually agree with this, I’m just curious what is stopping you from sharing who you think we are going for? What are the ‘circumstances’ stopping us from announcing a manager that you’ve alluded to?Suntan wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2024 8:56 amRVN has gone for plan B knowing he was no longer in the running for the Burnley job. Can see a few more twists and turns in this one-I have to say us fans have had great value from this post-just like the bookies.A new twist every day, people claiming to know the inside line, whose been interviewed, whose turned us down, and with a fair share of abuse to other posters. Will it have a good ending-will we get a goody or a baddy. Its box office stuff

I don't see how RVN rejecting us in favour of man United isnt just as likely as us rejecting him. I really hope it is us rejecting him because that means going backwards, but I can't see unless someone actually knows different, why we know that to be the case

Now Albania have been knocked out we can expect to see movement on the deal for Sylvinho with Zabaleta imminently

Re: Next manager
The worst bit about transfers threads and now new manager threads apparently is the number of cranks who pop up claiming to be in the know about things.
We must be well into double figures on this thread now for sad tossers who’ve claimed they know some inside information. It’s all just a bit pathetic really.

Agreed. The current board are so secretive that they didn't leak the name of the assistant manager for weeks after he was actually appointed. They don't leak rumours.ksrclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2024 9:52 amThe worst bit about transfers threads and now new manager threads apparently is the number of cranks who pop up claiming to be in the know about things.

Re: Next manager
I realise I will get grief for asking this but I'm not looking back through 99 pages.
After turning Sunderland down what went wrong with rosenior ,I thought he was tied on our next manager.
Talking to various Leeds fans they think highly of him as do most Hull fans.

Who’s to say that RVN decided that Man U was his preferred option. That decision in many respects may have already been made for him before his former employer came knocking on his door .

There’s only one person on this thread who doesn’t think RVN was first choice and they try and be very cryptic with their posts.
They themselves backtracked from their original comments about pace not wanting him to say we turned RVN down.

Because nothing in life is certain!
And you already know the person I'm alluding to and the reasons why they may not want this to be public knowledge at this moment in time.
Which makes the signing of an assistant before the manager make more sense..............
And means we may not get an announcement for a while yet, even after the start of the season..........
Which makes putting Bellamy & Jackson in charge for now also make sense.
But then again I could just be a bullsh1tter making all this up.............
And if it doesn't happen there'll be queue on this message board ready to hunt me down and lynch me led by 123EasyasBFC

There were over 100 managers in the running pal and many have fallen by the wayside including RVN so what have I said that isn't true? All sounding fairly shambolic. Of course we will never know what is happening so maybe everything is wonderful but since the start of last season everything to date has been atrocious

If as a club we think it’s ok to start a season with interim staff in charge then they are even more clueless than I already thought they where

So what is it you want or don't want from it then.
A guy puts up some "speculation" and you start slagging him?
Is it just cold hard fact you are wanting?

That's a good story. Actually, I am 50/50, too. Father was from Oldham, mother from Skipton. I was born in Skipton.Firthy wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2024 8:35 am50/50 really like my family. Well at least that's the story my parents told me.

That’s not speculating, that’s acting like you fully know what’s going on and seem to take pleasure in doing so.
It’s strange

This thread is beginning to resemble the remnants of a Lewis Carroll novel and reminds me of the conversation Alice had during the tea party and the challenges she faced in understanding the fundamental concept of time.Guller Bull wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2024 11:07 amI am presuming that this thread is supposed to be a bit like the transfer speculation thread?

The riddles posed seemed to have no answer and existed solely to perpetuate confusion and disorder but chaos was the ruling principle and a strange sense of order still existed. Though riddles need not have answers, language must retain some kind of logic.
The Mad Hatter, March Hare and Dormouse kindly pointed out to Alice that "saying what she means and meaning what she says are not the same thing" which seems to put this whole thread into some kind of context.
