Yeah they will have been there after being at Padiham on Parade today. Andy Gray was driving a tank and Richard Keys was in the gunner position waving to the crowds.Steve-Harpers-perm wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 7:18 pmJust bumped into Richard Keys and Andy Gray who are out drinking in Rawtenstall and both said watch this space about the Danish manager with a mischievous glint in their eyes. I work with a lot of Evertonians. I think they mostly respect Dyche for the job he’s done and see him as the right man for now.

Well if this new bloke doesn’t want SD at Everton I hope our yank owners want to bale out of BFC and we can get some owners who realises SD’s worth.
That’s assuming that SD would come back here after the way he was treated Garlic and co.

The problem with SD was that whilst his style of football was ok when successful it absolutely stunk the place out when it was not...and it wasn't for the last 18 months of his reign. The pilot light had gone out. He needed potting months before he actually was. Get over it.

Tarks was very similar to THB until he adapted to what was required and he was never rabbit in headlights the Dara was last season; Cork and Cullen are cut from the same cloth; Pope’s distribution is his weak point, but it would match Trafford’s and Pope wouldn’t have conceded the goals against Everton or Brighton; McNeill (and JBG for that matter) understood that a “winger” is as much a defender as an attacker in today’s game and imagine if he’d had the freedom Anass and Manuel going forward.
All would’ve walked into last season’s team, never mind the Championship winners.

Re: Next manager
No idea if this rumour about the Danish manager is kosher but regardless this is a deep article from him. It gives a clue what makes him tick and what may make him attractive to some owners - identity, sustainability, diversity etc.
Also drops in that lightening incident that probably made many Danish players twitchy earlier.

The fans were definitely turning on him at one point last season but also fair to say he’d won them around again by the end. They’re a fickle bunch the Everton lot.

Well, Denmark are out of the Euros.
So if one particular rumour is true, things might start moving forward.

Who’s got the flight checker on ready to see if Kasper ghosts his way to the north west ?
Re: Next manager
It will be interesting to see what, if anything, now comes of these rumours linking us with the Denmark manager.
It's so strange that nothing of much substance has emerged and it all seems quite unlikely, but two things are of interest for me. Firstly, the hiring of this Danish assistant coach, and secondly, according to Wikipedia he spent some time in the Nineties in the USA. Two things which may be purely coincidental, but you never know.

Sounds like the assistant was coming regardless of wether Kompany left or not. So we can rule that link out .

From what I’ve read on X, a lot of fans think he’s leaving the Denmark job. Quite a few want him too.
Re: Next manager
That's true of all managers. It's not a minority view that Kompany's style of play "stunk the place out" last year.Somethingfishy wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 9:52 pmThe problem with SD was that whilst his style of football was ok when successful it absolutely stunk the place out when it was not...and it wasn't for the last 18 months of his reign. Re: Next manager
The one thing that worries me slightly from.that article is his motivation. He's clearly had issues with that at times and I do wonder if it would be an issue after leaving such a big job as manager of the national team and then coming.straight to us without a break.
He also talked about his time at Mainz that sort of implies he failed because he wasn't given the 12 months to prepare and research that he was promised.
He clearly won't have that if he's coming here so how much does he know about the championship? Where would he find the time to research the teams, scout players across the world in depth to ensure recruitment is correct, along with building relationships with the current players and getting us playing in his way.

Re: Next manager
More than that. My son was wearing a Burnley tracksuit top when we were in Liverpool a couple of weeks ago and a bloke in an Everton top came over, shook his hand and said ‘thanks for Sean Dyche’. Didn’t have the heart to tell the Evertonian that we’d binned him off about a year before he joined them!agreenwood wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 9:21 pmI work with a lot of Evertonians. I think having a decent staff underneath you with varying knowledge of these things will help to a degree . If Bellamy was to stay along with Jackson and the new fella then I don’t think that’s a bad start

Just wondering if the Jyllands-Posten chaps are still p!ssing themselves after getting knocked out? Also interesting they have heard of Bromley.brexit wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 6:40 pmJust talked to a couple of journos from Jyllands-Posten about Kasper Hjulmand here in Dortmund. They p!ssed themselves laughing when I mentioned Kasper being the Burnley manager, they compared with it Southgate being the manger of Bromley.
The feeling here is that Denmark could turn the Germans over.
Interestingly most of the press I have talked to tonight think a small country will win the Euros a repeat of the unexpected Greece win some years ago - Austria being very widely tipped.
Remarkable that they thought they would roll Germany in my eyes.
Are you in Germany pal?
