Tbh it's a running joke, I always said he was an overhyped clogger, and maintained that position throughout his career. I also met him a couple of times, years ago and he was a bit of a bell so I've had to keep it up. Obviously now I'm getting ripped by my pals cos he's rocked up here. Meh is exactly the word. Can't see him being better than meh here but happy to be proved wrong as it means he'll have done a decent job.JohnMcGreal wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2024 2:22 pmWhat is it about him that's given you such a negative view on him for such a long time?
I always found to him to be very 'meh' as a player and can't say I know much about him as a manager. I find it difficult to have an opinion on him at all so I'm just genuinely curious as to why you've disliked him for so long![]()

Bit suprised at some of the negativity towards Parker . He’s got a good record , 2 x 1st time champ promotions , and shockingly dumped by Bournemouth and Fulham were the worst team in the prem after he supposedly had little input in the prem signings . He’s young ambitious, and learning his craft . Couldn’t be worse than VK who stunk the place out in the prem .

Spent 4 seasons at West Ham 3 times winning the accolade of Hammer Of The Year, named Footballer Of The Year in 2011, appointed captain of Newcastle, capped for England whilst playing for 4 different clubs.

Joking aside...do we think the club could introspection a Burnley cardigan?
I would absolutely love one.

He certainly wasnt a clogger. Much better than any of our midfielders of recent times.quoonbeatz wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2024 3:07 pmTbh it's a running joke, I always said he was an overhyped clogger, and maintained that position throughout his career. A solid appointment & if truth be told I don't think we could have attracted a higher calibre in the grand scheme of things. I think he'll do a steady job & should have us in & around the playoff pack with the resources at his disposal.

I was a bit underwhelmed at first but looking at the other candidates on offer none of them have the experience of the championship, he has, and with a fantastic squad of players at his disposal I think he and and Bellamy and co will do a cracking job.

Well yeah, that's kind of the joke. He can't touch Defour though, I'd still class him as recent.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2024 6:17 pmHe certainly wasnt a clogger. Much better than any of our midfielders of recent times.

Scott Parker, good luck.
Haven't seen any pre season fixtures announced yet but good to have manager now prior to those.
