As someone who is politically quite far to the left, it is pathetic how many of your reactions to this is in regards to to your own political interests.

It's definitely there and it's not difficult to understand why. When you seek to divide as intensely as the likes of Farage and Trump do, you are going to inflame tensions on both sides. They know it and you could very much argue they actively encourage it because that's how they thrive - division, animosity, always having to have an enemy.

It doesn't in any way justify violence, assassination attempts or whatever but it isn't a surprise that an incident like this has happened.
