That's just a bit special, thanks for posting.

David Taylor didn't score many goals for us, just five in total I think, but he will have savoured that winner against Liverpool in the first game of the tour.

Great pic of the team line-up prior to the game. What a unit big Joe Anderson was at centre-forward, no Tommy Boyle on the photo as he missed the tour due to a family bereavement.

Just a superb link with so much detail previously unknown.

Great stuff I used to have the programme for the Venice game in Padova but was never sure of the other games and if programmed were issued. All were rare if issued

Hi Calcioengland. First of all many thanks for the research and the article that the OP shared. It seems that you do quite a lot of research. Some months ago I was researching the participation of a Burnley youth team in a tournament in Germany in 1965. One of the group matches was against Juventus. I have the match results below but not all the scorers and no line ups. Not sure if you can access Italian sources for details of the match against Juve at least so that I can fit another piece of the jigsaw. Any Uptheclarets posters who can contribute would be welcome as well.

I’ve taken a look in the newspaper archive of one of the Turin papers (La Stampa) but nothing in there I’m afraid. The other source I would go to is MyJuve.it; that has a pretty complete historical record for senior and unofficial games but currently seems to be offline.

Brilliant read, some fascinating stories. I can't help comparing it to a tour by pampered modern footballers. Wishing a fishing rod was brought,deflating the spare ball as a souvenir,back on playing after dislocating an elbow, the rise of fascism in the background brought a real menace to the story as well.
