Sander BERGE
I live near Leeds and my next door neighbour is a season ticket holder at Elland Road .He's just told me that they've signed Berge .Did I miss it on here or is it just breaking ? If it's true I'll be gutted...I liked him a lot and saw him as a potential major influence next season but to go to Leeds who could be a major threat to us is next term is a major blow .Could only have gone to one other place that would cause me as much grief . If he had to go I thought it would be to the Prem.

Re: Sander BERGE
I’d hope that to prise Berge from us you would need around £25m. Leeds don’t have that and I’m not sure any of the clubs in Turkey would get anywhere near either. Will need a Premier League team to come in for him to go I reckon.

I really hope you are right .My neighbour was so chuffed . I had no reason to disbelieve him because he's pretty well up on what goes on down there...used to be on their backroom staff 'til he retired .Looks like there are others sniffing round so fingers crossed .By the way Casper , I'm not gullible and neither is he .

Re: Sander BERGE
I’ve no idea…
But I DO know Leeds aren’t big enough to get Berge away from us.
Small town team punching well above their weight in the chanpionship, to massive one club city team jabbing spectacularly lower than they should be in the same division?
If billy bremners grandsons played for us they wouldn’t move to Leeds…
Joke club, joke city.

Re: Sander BERGE
I very much doubt a single bid from a Turkish club means he is definitely going there.
Assuming he doesn’t have a low release clause, and there’s been no reports he does, it’s unlikely any Turkish clubs will be able to afford it. It’s telling this report does not include the alleged bid.
I’ll be very surprised if he ends up in Turkey.

Re: Sander BERGE
Berge wasn’t at the open training yesterday but neither was JBG so could just have a knock
Re: Sander BERGE
The ‘source’ for that report is a Turkish Twitter account with 895k followers, yet gets zero interactions on any tweets, barely any views, including this one, and comes with no article. So it’s essentially nothing. Best get used to this with Turkish journalism.

One of the worst parts of getting to the Premier League repeatedly is having to put up with Turkish football and its ‘media’. A cesspit of liars.

Only washed up players go to Dirty Leeds or Turkey
Re: Sander BERGE
Think they were taken earlier in the week and not on Friday. Most players wearing rain jackets on those photos whilst yesterday the majority were in t shirts due to the warmer weather.

Re: Sander BERGE
By the sounds of it, the £16m figure was taken from an article reporting simulated football transfers on a football manager game, so I wouldn’t read much in to it.gawthorpe_view wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2024 8:27 amThat could be a release clause.

Hopefully we’ve not been stupid enough to agree to release clauses for any of our players, but if we had agreed such a low one for Sander Berge I’d expect a long list of clubs to have already activated it.
Re: Sander BERGE
You’d think that if a £16M release clause was true, then Berge would already be snapped up at that price.

Yep, could just be an injury (hopefully small one, if so), but I’d guess more likely that they’re protecting him from the fans and the inevitable questioning that he’d get on his future.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2024 8:39 amThat wasn’t the open training, that was a gallery of the full weeks training

Re: Sander BERGE
Release clauses do exist but I don't believe they exist in every contract or are met as readily as some people would like us believe. It's a handy excuse to offload any said player if you need the money & are also eager to pacify the fan base.gawthorpe_view wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2024 8:27 amThat could be a release clause.

Surely if he goes to Turkey he goes for double the transfer record for that league
Re: Sander BERGE
Looks like he wants Turkey and Mourinho, so a big hole in our middle.
