Wasn't there a T shirt with him and the ironing board. Would love one.

Wasn’t he responding to a racist comment by one of our goalkeepers at he time?

Went to Grimsby away on the club’s supporters bus, CT would have been on it. Chris Pearce was out injured and Oghani had been suspended/sacked , rumours were rife.

My brother went to polytechnic with Peter Leebrooke who had a few stories to tell including one about Oghani been light fingered.

About 20 years ago I found out a colleague played 5 a side with George. I gave him my Burnley shirt from the Wembley season who got George to sign it which he duly did, still got it somewhere.

Put the ironing board down George to the tune of tie my kangaroo down sport

Superb first touch and quick over 5m made him very hard to stop.Personal issues prevented him playing at a much higher level. I still remember him destroying PNE in the Sherpa Van semi

After a Saturday game in which he had played in he pulled up next to me at the summit traffic lights in an old knackered light blue Vauxhall Chevette. Oh how times have changed in the cars our players drive now !!

He is a Financial Adviser so must have a clean slate these days
Didn’t he pay for the ironing board but had forgot about some nails or screws in his pocket

Window locks wasn't it?

Forgive him for that, maybe but the incident with the linesman in the amateur football match is unforgivable and disgraceful.

I think the story went along the lines was that George pinched some window locks from Asda in Longsight , Manchester. On leaving he was challenged by a store detective and George picked up an ironing board and hit the detective with it .

Great times to be a Claret, if only there was social media in those days.

I found myself sitting next to him in the launderette on Gt Western St during my student days in Manchester.

How times change indeed; I now find myself sitting next to our players in the launderette in Alderley Edge.
