Strange comment from Steve, the trampolining is really fascinating and I dare Steve to give it a go himself, he might have fun!
Good luck to Bryony.

The trampolining is actually pretty crazy. The bravery and confidence to risk injury on literally every bounce.

Yes he's got oodles of confidence but he is that good to justify it. I think he said he could beat Kerr blindfolded which hopefully will spur Kerr on to beat him!

Bryony takes gold with an amazing routine. Russian and Chinese athletes are absolutely distraught.

Third now, with the 9th Gold. The tables can be a bit slow to update sometimes.

Another gold for GB in men's rowing. Absolutely stormed by the lads, they looked so calm and composed. Best the Dutch who were rowing in a swanky carbon fiber boat.

Gold for Ireland in the men’s pommel horse - their first gymnastics medal of any description. Great final. GB’s Max Whitlock just missed out in 4th.

BBC overdramatising the pommel horse. Max made an error or two, his score in Rio or Tokyo was enough for gold today, as indeed was Louis Smith’s silver in Rio. It wasn’t an overly high scoring final despite what the BBC say.

How can the windsurfing be fair? The British girl won 8 out of the 14 races and was miles ahead. She then had to sit and wait whilst the quaters and semis were raced, which gave them the chance to learn how the wind was and which line to take, and then went into a final with three of them. She ended up with Bronze. It has happened to her twice now where she finished miles ahead and didn't get the gold.

Sport is 50% skill and 50% tactics

I'm no windsurfer but surely sensible tactics there is don't finish miles ahead?

GB lose the men's hockey semi final to India, who had 10 men for most of the game. India were brilliant and defended like a prime Dyche unit, GB were woeful in trying to break them down.

Winning a 100 metres gold medal was only made possible for Julien Alfred because she left St Lucia at an early age to go to school in Jamaica and subsequently moved to live and train in the US. Jamaica was the birthplace of her idol Usain Bolt and both Jamaica and the US have a wonderful sprinting heritage.
Whilst the gold medal may well inspire the young people of St Lucia the islands are impoverished and lack the facilities needed to train aspiring athletes to the required level. Still, a wonderful moment for the people of St Lucia to celebrate a victory for one of their own.

I have a house in St Lucia and have spent a lot of time there over the last 7-8 years.

The National Stadium has been left to ruin and something like last night might awaken the powers that be to do something about it.

There’s poverty right across the Caribbean, but this will inspire the kids there that they can achieve something in life.

It’s worth noting British track stars like Dina Asha-Smith base themselves in the States.
