Hoping for a quick rebound.

Re: World shares and Crypto Bloodbath
About time. I’ve been completely out of shares for about three months as they’ve felt too high (got out slightly too early but I prefer to err on the side of caution). I was beginning to think I’d made the wrong decision and they weren’t going to drop. I’m hoping for a sustained decrease then get back in.

Re: World shares and Crypto Bloodbath
After the 2008 crash the Dow Jones Index was was approx double the ftse. ( 8000-4000 approx )
Today the approx indices are approx 40000 and 8000 so 5 times higher
Totally inflated numbers in America in my opinion that cannot be maintained
Gonna be an interesting day !

Re: World shares and Crypto Bloodbath
Looking forward to today, have some ETH & BTC - ETF's, hoping to add more and bring my average down a good bit, Just waiting for the US Market to open to see exactly where I stand, as am also hoping to sell some to fund extra purchases from a couple that are showing no real drop pre-market. Been buying crypto regularly, and over the last month I doubled my normal purchases, also transferred more funds to my Crypto account in anticipation for the week ahead.

Certainly a great buying opportunity if you can pick the bottom. Not sure in Crypto we are there yet

I know nothing about crypto. Just don’t get it. (Don’t really want to either). I’m hoping a nice drop on the cards for the FTSE100 companies though.

Correction rather than full on bear market...far too much value on London market for anyone to panic....if it approaches 7500 then thatd be my marker for another build..

Re: World shares and Crypto Bloodbath
My ‘tried and trusted’ is try to keep an eye on future spending (for next 6 to 12 months or so). Then if the market is anywhere near a high spot draw some to cover the potential expenditure.
If the market then falls you can give yourself a pat on the back for timing it well to cover planned spending. If it continues to grow after you’ve drawn some out it’s still happy days as the remainder of the investment is going up.
Always keep some spare cash to top back up if the market falls sufficiently.
The above transactions only represent a small percentage of my overall holdings and therefore it’s not a disaster if I get it a bit wrong.
The phrase ‘spend it if you need it’ but otherwise don’t touch it especially if the market has fallen.

Oh shares have fallen to levels we haven’t seen since the end of April. Hardly a bloodbath

Whatever happened to NFTs? The digital photographs you could invest in. Didn't the club start flogging NFTs of the players at one point? Seemed doomed to failure from the off.

Here's a few (allegedly) world leading examples of NFT collections. Why would anyone part with their hard earned money to invest in these for example?

Maybe you can buy NFTs in the Rapidz Fan Zone. I'll have a look next home game.

There is a good doc on Channel Four about OneCoin.
I still find it incredulous that people, many of whom had wealth, would 'invest' in a 'currency' that was not actively traded and neither could you purchase anything. People sat at home watching their supposed investment rocket, and it was just numbers on a website page. Thing is, though, this was obvious right from the beginning, but people saw 'free money' and bought in. In the end, they simply funded a bunch of crooks lifestyles to the tune of billions of dollars.

I don't think the club ever got so far as doing anything other than a press release. The NBA NFTs were making big money (turning over about $1bn) around that time but I'm not sure whether that's still going.mikeS wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 6:54 amWhatever happened to NFTs? I liked the Michael Owen NFT that was guaranteed to not fall in value but actually turned out that you just weren't allowed to sell it below face value.
Re: World shares and Crypto Bloodbath
Totally agree, enjoyed watching the program, while simultaneously shaking my head, but having to listen to hubby commentating several times about, how safe-how sure are you regarding the crypto we have was annoying lol.Clovius Boofus wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 8:36 amThere is a good doc on Channel Four about OneCoin.

Re: World shares and Crypto Bloodbath
well, that so called bloodbath didn't last long, did anyone get good bargains, whether shares or crypto?
do people see it falling further before EY, or are you expecting a continual increase from here with occasional pull backs?
