Shocking decision to leave amber a silver medal. At this level, with this much at stake, the appeal should be heard, that target was clearly hit.

If the ref misses it, the assistant should be getting it right. If two refs can’t get it right, time for VAR to intervene. There’s twenty cameras there that picked that up. No excuses for someone to miss out on a potential gold because of another humans error.

You see scheffler out with 2 clubs on 2nd shot addressing the ball and lie to determine which club to take. Each time pressing grass down behind the ball

I heard Police sirens as the coverage switched to the Golf, investigating a robbery in the skeet shooting ?

What a 100m final that was!

8th place was 0.12 of a second behind the winner!

I was saying the other day, we better enjoy this one, as the TV schedule for the next 2 will be a bit naff. USA and Australia.

There were a few of them that say they hit the clay during the final. All of them were dismissed. It doesn't seem right but I suppose they were all in the same boat. I think they said the gold winner had missed one earlier that she said had hit, so she would have probably won it without a shoot off. It's because they don't see the powder they just guess it has missed. They need to go to Specsavers.

Can the person who just deleted my post from this thread give me an explanation please? There was nothing remotely hateful or abusive in my post and it was polite and informative. It is pretty frustrating to provide relevant information on a widely debated Olympic topic and have it deleted.

Should be a great final between him and Ingebrigtsen
The 1500m final is the one to watch. I thought it was interesting to see Ingebrigtsen lead from the front in the semi. As they were saying on commentary, it shows a chink in his armour. I actually thought Kerr was toying with him in the last 100m or so, looking very comfortable just sitting on his shoulder - as if he was saying "I've got more in the locker". It'll be a cracking final.

You do realise how hard it is to even win a medal, never mind a gold. No wonder they make a big deal of it.

I asked a genuine whether every gold had been afforded the same amount of coverage. The cycling gold earlier in the evening didn't.

It's not unreasonable to ask and on another night the cycling team would have got a lot more attention.

I think the answer is that running appeals to the whole world. Team sprint cycling is relatively niche and only a few countries participate and dominate. The 750m blast we won last night was only introduced in 2012 I think. We are not likely to see St Lucia (100m Gold) winning a team cycling event anytime soon!

The women's 800m final won by Keely Hodgkinson was the event I was most looking forward to in the entire games. For others it will be Kerr v Ingebrigsten in the 1500m tonight.

Just realised my last post is more opinionated than my mainly good news post that was deleted on Sunday night.

Can anyone help with this please? How do I find out why it was deleted? Do I have to email Tony? I don't want to bother him with something so mundane and I doubt CT deleted my post. Surely it's only common courtesy for the person who deleted it to give me a reason or am I showing my age? Happy to receive an email or whatever if that helps? Obviously it is not good to waste time providing info and then see it vanish.

Yep.
Coming off the last bend, he was struggling, & kept pushing Josh out wider.
And opened the door for the winner.

Great run from Hocker though.

Shame we couldn't get gold, but what a great race the 1500m was. Two rivals locked in battled, and somebody else takes the mantle. Loved the athletics so far - the men's 100m, pole vault world record broken and the fantastic win for Keely in the 800m amongst many highlights.

As soon as he looked over his shoulder at 1200m you knew he was done. A shame Josh couldn't hold on but what a race; an Olympic Record, British Record, Dutch Record and Italian Record in the same race... incredible pace from the whole field.

Australia win gold in Men Skateboarding.

A great final and refreshing to see all riders just happy and encouraging each other irrespective of their national allegiances or their own position in the standings.
