What a lovely start! I wouldn't have put Browny on being out first goalscorer! He took it superbly. Great ball by Pires.
Re: Luton v Burnley Match Thread
Cracking assist from Pires!
Re: Luton v Burnley Match Thread
Pirez screaming for the ball and they are ignoring him lol.

Re: Luton v Burnley Match Thread
Aggressive press by Pires earlier when he was in quick on a tackle and what an exquisite ball through to Josh.
He looks a real talent at left back. Tenacious and skilful #SambaClarets

Booing Trafford- I wasn’t his biggest fan last season but this is disgraceful and embarrassing.

Surely it is not us booing him?

Come on we should go for a second.
Re: Luton v Burnley Match Thread
Luton have surprised me. I expected them to start fast, pumping balls up to the front.

Trafford kicking much the same!

Koleosho looks bigger than i remember.
Re: Luton v Burnley Match Thread
See that we've got a defender to protect the keeper on set pieces this season. Will probably make quite a difference
Re: Luton v Burnley Match Thread
Might be because he wanted a free kick when they equalised.
Re: Luton v Burnley Match Thread
Does Foster look a little unfit or has he over bulked?

Great goal, great start. However booing you're own player, who's your last line of defence and only 21 yr is sad and absolutely moronic. It almost as if fans actually believe he was the sole reason we were relegated and nothing to do with the naive, inept, stuborn tactics the manager employed...

Re: Luton v Burnley Match Thread
Esteve did really well there.
Pires looks very very good going forward but a little suspect defensively
If I’m honest I don’t mind that in this league tbh. He’s very exciting to watch

Like the look of Pires a lot.
Re: Luton v Burnley Match Thread
Corner them again. Fingers crossed
Re: Luton v Burnley Match Thread
Great that we've scored but it looks quite familiar overall to me. Perhaps not surprising given how little SP has been able to change things and how little time he's had.
It's not another Huddersfield. Not yet anyway.

He's been really aggressive in the tackle and with his pressing. He's quick as well and closes space quickly.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 8:19 pmEsteve did really well there.

Honestly can't see why so many have been negative. Look at how Esteve mugged Ogbhene off there. Our CBs are way too good for attack forces in this division.

Re: Luton v Burnley Match Thread
Good goal but a fairly tetchy start from us.
Re: Luton v Burnley Match Thread
It really does seem like it's our fans booing him, it's quieter than the roars the Luton fans are putting out and it makes zero sense that they would boo our keeper. If he was a former Luton player I'd understand it, but he isn't.
Also, it sounded suspiciously like "Fluuuuke!" when Trafford made a save earlier...

This is arguably one of the hardest fixtures we will have all season and we have been excellent.
I agree from what I have seen in this short spell I think he’s going to be a fan favourite this season

Re: Luton v Burnley Match Thread
Really hope your right mate, but not convinced...not sure why luton fans would single him out? There's been a lot aimed at Trafford on social media by some fans since he was dropped which has been way over the top and completely lacking in perspective.

Re: Luton v Burnley Match Thread
Do we know for sure it’s Burnley fans booing and not Luton ?
Re: Luton v Burnley Match Thread
Surely Luton fans know Trafford is our weakest link and perhaps their best chance of a goal so they are unsettling him? That's what I've thought from minute 1 but I may be wrong.

Some predicted a midtable finish and that we'd get battered tonight. Daft and unnecessarily negative.

Two very loose passes from Vitinho.

If we keep giving the ball away this cheaply, we are going to get punished.
No need to overplay it.
