Cardiff sold 200 tickets

Very poor if true.

Cardiff have always had rubbish support for the size of the city. They don’t travel well I don’t think, not in numbers anyway.

Wasn’t long ago they was getting 12k at Ninian park(Cotterill era)

It always amuses me when away fans decry Burnley when often where they come from is far worse.

If true, it serves us right for failing to accede to their request
for a reciprocal agreement on ticket price.

After last night’s performance we should be able to sell out the Turf barring the away section

There's the rub - what effect does price have on attendance.

Too many variables at play to second guess it.

There's a few odd tickets in each stand. And one section in the Longside upper corner with a few spare. Will sell out there or there abouts.

Ninian Park was a dump but it was a much better ground for them to play in and for away fans to attend for an atmosphere.

Sadly you have fans who prefer the soulless indentikit lifeless arenas instead of a proper football grounds. the fact Cardiff roll over most seasons at home to teams must not bother some of them much so long as they have a comfy cushioned seat to sit on.

If it was round the corner it might make a difference
If you're prepared to travel from Cardiff, and all that involves, the extra £10 won't stop most travelling fans, it's the least expensive part of the day. If you suddenly said it was free another 2k still wouldn't come

It might be a sell out, but with it being the holidays it won’t be full attendance.

My brother & nephew won’t be there as still away and unable to get their tickets on the exchange to even try and resell

Yeah, peak holiday season will mean there will be loads of empty seats unfortunately.

When I'm away I always try to give my tickets to another family that don't get to go much, but with the late arrival of tickets and people already away on holiday, that might be hard.

Hopefully last nights result encourages more on though. Only having 200 away will definitely be a big advantage for us. Premier league fan bases filling our away end and singing for 90 minutes was equally unhelpful.

It won't stop the fans who are determined to come and who travel everywhere, but the fans who often travel but not always might be more inclined to say "sod them, I don't like Burnley anyway, I'll go to the next one".

Of course they lost their first game - at home. I suppose the fans thought they would suffer another defeat at Burnley so coyted it.

They seem to have gotten a bit snobby since they moved into their shiny new soulless bowl don’t they? How do they have the nerve to call our ground a dump when they had Ninian Park?

What's the problem with the walk-on prices (apart from a very few seats at £50)?

Quite, I've lived in Reading about where Sir John Betjeman wrote, " no town in England more successfully hides it's attractions from visitors ". Well John, I lived there for three years and the best thing about it was the train station, because it got me home again ...

Tottenham may boast a near £1bn new ground, but it looks like a toilet seat shaped Spaceship that's been dropped into a slum clearance area ...

Last time we played them at home, there were a couple of Cardiff fans in the Miners sat next to us. Seemed decent enough, a bit of banter and all that until the steward caught them filling their glasses up from a supply of cans they'd smuggled in. They were removed pretty sharpish.

The arrogance from their fans on the forum is staggering.
Ninian park was a go to ground. Old school. Hostile. Historic. Im glad i experinced it.
Their new ground could be 1 of 20 different grounds.

Too expensive. Although i think the amount of TV games will be as big a factor.

Did the fill the away end when we played them in premier league? 1988 was the only decent following I remember them bringing to the turf.

Can remember it being fairly full but don’t know the official figures. It was a big game at the bottom so they’d have brought a good following.

Think they did fill it but like you say that must be the 1st time since 88, maybe the carnage that day put them off

Long way to Cardiff to be fair, after getting done 2 nil at home by Sunlan and watching us give a beating out last night I wouldn't imagine will help swell the ranks.

Cardiff city centre is lovely, the suburbs are rough as.

That last game of the 1988 season was mayhem. I missed the game as I was playing cricket up Towneley and had a real issue trying to get back to Nelson as the Police had closed off some of the roads. Never seen Cardiff turn up in any numbers since then

Was it not to mark the coronation of King Charles? Just had a look on Google that the coronation took place on the 6th May and we played them on the 8th.

In regard to the 200 apparently sold, it may be that other blocks have previously sold and just those two blocks are on sale which is similar to the situation we are in for Sunderland.

They won’t bring thousands but I’d be surprised if their following is that small.

Mmmm. OK, well apologies if that is correct. You sort of get used to that sort of shite happening at least 6 times a season when you follow a Welsh club, even if it is at non league level. I hoped that we hadn't quite stooped to the level of Poole Town, Chippenham, Crawley and the like.

To mark the King's coronation which had happened two days earlier. Sung by Gavin Young on the pitch.

You're welcome.

My experiences of Ninian Park, were not so rosy, more of a hostile place, where you were pelted with rubble, then glad to get back to a car with windows still intact. By way of comparison, I'm looking forward to visiting the new ground later this season.

Somehow it doesn't quite compare to when the longside louts chanted "Aberfan" to the visiting Welsh in the 70's.

Ninian Park was an awful place to go. Never felt particularly safe outside. Then they moved across the road and it all changed. Totally different, very welcoming and with probably the best and most helpful stewards you will come across.
