Re: REPORT: Perfect opener for Parker’s Burnley
Lets hope you keep going tony, we need the match reports.
Dont think ive ever seen the fanbase as confident as we are right now.
Our drop to div 2 in 70s was met with complete confidence we would return.
Drops to the 4th division were also met with such confidence.
What year did Keith McKnee have to walk to the opening game after a dismal season following a relegation?
I know we havent won anything, im probably the first generation on Browns not to see us pick up a top honour but what a great period the last 10 years has been.

Re: REPORT: Perfect opener for Parker’s Burnley
Not quite right - it was Peter Higgs. Following relegation to Div 3 in 1980 he claimed that we would finish in the top four/six, can't recall just how high, and said he'd walk to the first away game in the following season if we didn't achieve it. We didn't, we finished 8th and the first away game of the next season was Gillingham. To be fair, he and a few others, raised a lot of charity doing it too.steve1264b wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 5:39 pm

Interesting that you've never seen us lose at Luton, Tony.
My first two visits both ended in defeat. 1-0 in 71-72, and 4-1 in 78-79.

Great report.
Edwards is usually quite fair in his after match comments, so were did he come up with the notion that Luton "controlled large parts of the game"?
Apart from the 10/15 mins after HT, they did very little that sticks in the memory.
Anyway, great performance and result, great to see the joy amongst the players on the pitch as the goals went in.

We were never in danger and Trafford didn’t have a save to make. It could’ve quite easily ended up 7-1.
Dominant.

And even within that 10-minute period we could/should have scored twice.ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 8:04 pmGreat report.

Are there any other grounds where you've seen us unbeaten in your last 10 or more visits? Can't be many I'd guessClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 7:58 pmIt’s weird but I also missed the two defeats under Stan.

I very much doubt it. I certainly can’t think of one.JohnDearyMe wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 8:36 pmAre there any other grounds where you've seen us unbeaten in your last 10 or more visits? Can't be many I'd guess

Re: REPORT: Perfect opener for Parker’s Burnley
I never thought one of my match reports would lead to a discussion about Red Adair and Fred Trueman
