Cardiff sold 200 tickets
Re: Cardiff sold 200 tickets
I think it was of the time though, lots of grounds were intimidating, Ninian Park though was right up there, Last time I went I was called an English bstard at least though it was in English not Welsh.
Re: Cardiff sold 200 tickets
Spoke to some decent lads 2 years ago who said they had brought a big following ( last match of the season at The Turf ) as
when the tickets went on sale it was a seen as a do or die relegation match for them but as it transpired was a bit of a
meaningless game ..

Me too. I'll never forget standing in the centre circle at the end of the match watching all the bricks fly over into the away end where we would have been stood

Speedway Grand Prix this weekend at their ground, which I still think of as Ninian Park though I know it isn’t. Must admit if I supported Cardiff City I’d prefer a few hours watching the world’s best speedway riders to travelling to Burnley to watch my team get demolished.

Re: Cardiff sold 200 tickets
I have to balance things out in the current state of play at Cardiff.
I travelled from Llanelli on the train for the game a couple of seasons ago. The City centre is a great place to have a few beers and something to eat. We risked going into a packed Cardiff boozer before the match including one of us wearing colours.
We took a bit of verbal but most were friendly enough.
Did we win that day ?

Is the game available on a stream on Saturday? I’m going on but would be interested to know our options if sky aren’t showing it for future games

Re: Cardiff sold 200 tickets
Clarets+ has it available as a live video broadcast, think you need to pay £10 for each game though.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2024 10:55 amIs the game available on a stream on Saturday? I’m going on but would be interested to know our options if sky aren’t showing it for future games

Re: Cardiff sold 200 tickets
Cheers upon looking it says live video commentary. Without sounding silly, would that not indicate a video of the commentators or did it advertise as live video commentary with the Luton game?
Re: Cardiff sold 200 tickets
Apparently, The game is being shown on Paramount +.. not sure if a free stream will be available.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2024 10:55 amIs the game available on a stream on Saturday? I’m going on but would be interested to know our options if sky aren’t showing it for future games

I seem to recall CT quite a few years ago now having a bad experience at Ninian park.
Including something to do with a Welsh policeman if my memory serves me well.

Yes, I'm still in regular contact with James and met up with him a few times last season.mybloodisclaret wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2024 2:03 amHi DG you still in contact with T.E.A time brewery lad? Need to know if the Clarets v Cardiff game will be shown otherwise need to make other plans
I've been in touch with him and, unfortunately, the TEA Time pub will not be able to show the game.
There are a couple of other bars in Krakow old town which may show it but as it's not on Sky/ BT you might be struggling.
You may want to try the Polski Pub on the main square. I've seen a couple of Burnley games in there in the past.

Re: Cardiff sold 200 tickets
Thanks for this. Will give it a go. With the game being a 3pm kick off doubt the paid for streaming service from the club will be available.Dressinggown wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2024 2:51 pmYes, I'm still in regular contact with James and met up with him a few times last season.

If anyone remembers the Mullin era & for quite a few years after that Cardiff used to get a very warm welcome from Burnley.

Re: Cardiff sold 200 tickets
A Cardiff supporting friend says our game is 1 of the qualifying purchases in order to be eligible to apply for Swansea away tickets for them. They have a choice of 3 games to buy a ticket for to get into the draw. Not sure whether having a season ticket would put them into the ballot.
