Dara O Shea
DONT SELL HIM. Under contract until 2027. Value will only go up. He is getting better and better and could lead us back into the PL.

He's certainly one of our much improved players when you look at how poor he was for our first 10-15 PL games.
Re: Dara O Shea
We're now seeing why people shouldn't have been comparing O'Shea in the PL with THB from the Championship.
Class player.
Class player.

Re: Dara O Shea
Seriously though, just really to highlight the gulf in class between the two leagues. I felt sorry for Dara in the first part of last season and he was often compared to THB who a lot thought we should have signed instead, but I think Dara is a better player who we should hang onto at all costs.

Re: Dara O Shea
He is a robust goal scoring centre half. That’s keeping a lot of us onside with this player. Plus he seems a good egg and a perfect Burnley fit when compared to past great servants.
I’d be happy if we kept him.

Re: Dara O Shea
Absolutely. I wouldn't entertain anything under £20m for him - and preferably with add-ons. Vastly underrated player and would be a bigger miss then Berge for me.
Re: Dara O Shea
Considering Kompany's preference for ball playing defenders, I felt it was an odd decision (one of many made by Kompany) to buy O'Shea, who one wouldn't automatically consider as that type of defender and he consequently struggled initially.
However, he is a proper defender and, with Esteve, was immense at Luton.
I hope we can hang on to him.

Re: Dara O Shea
As mentioned earlier, Dara deserves a thread of is own.
Wasn't convinced by him in the Premier, until the latter stages.
I was also surprised that he was one of the fastest players , top 4 I believe. This made me concentrate more on is performances and think he would be a great loss if we sold him.
No matter how much 'reasonable' profit, as he is an integral part of both defence and attack.
Strong and fast in defence, which allows us to push higher up the pitch, without being caught out by a counter attack.
In attack adds to set piece potency with is heading ability.
Great start to the season, roll on Saturday UTC

Re: Dara O Shea
The problem we have is that the wanted players are prem quality and the ones we could unload are not!
If we sell the prem quality, relegation would follow promotion again.

Re: Dara O Shea
I think he will get better and better if he stays. Apart from being a great victory on Monday it said to me that if we can keep O Shea and Esteve as our CH partners, then there is no need to fear any strike force in this Division, and am pretty certain Dara is capable of creating a combined total of 7 or 8 goals/assists in the opposition box. I know Luton were missing a few but we wont play a more direct physical team

Re: Dara O Shea
The thing with O’Shea is that he offers so much that none of other CBs do. He’s generally a very good out and out defender, especially at Championship level, he’s more than competent on the ball as evidenced by some of his assists last season, he’s a genuine leader in a dressing room still carrying some trauma to use his own words, and he’s aerially dominant in the opposition’s box such that his goal return for us has been outstanding for a defender.
As good as Estève is at his age, and his left sided preference probably puts a higher ceiling on him, neither he nor our other options offer what O’Shea does.
That’s why he’s an absolute must keep if we want to maximise our chances of going straight back up.

Re: Dara O Shea
He’s a good player at this level but it’s clear we need to sell some players.
Fortunately we are well stocked at centre back, providing we can actually get them fit. Possibly why they haven’t been linked with moves away.

Re: Dara O Shea
Would much rather sell the likes of Tresor etc and try to keep the likes of OShea Surely if Berge goes the need to sell will be far less pressing

Re: Dara O Shea
I have been critical of O'Shea (in the PL), in my opinion the inclusion of Esteve really helped him.
These 2 look absolutely top class for a 2nd tier side.... after 1 game

Re: Dara O Shea
Hopefully we can come to a gentleman’s agreement, help us win the league this year, get himself a winners medal and let him move on at the end of the season to a bigger club.

Brentford are ‘holding firm’ in their valuation of Ivan Toney.
Brentford want us to drop our price on O’Shea.
You gotta love ‘em
