Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome

If VK was in charge I wonder if he would have allowed all this to happen on his watch.

There is no loyalty in football.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 12:21 pmKoleosho owes us some loyalty after we nursed him through his injury
He is our only creative spark that teams can't handle. If he insists on moving we have to be looking at North of £30m with 25% resale. He is a massive talent also Wolves have £ 95m in recent sales
And, most of these players came to play under Kompany. So there's even less of a reason for them to be here now.

Absolutely spot on.Stproc wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 11:39 amThe problem is in what is determined as value to the Club as this drives behaviours and activities.
The value to us fans is the football side of things, playing well, winning and being near the top of the table.
The value to Pace and co is just money, they will do anything for money at the detriment of the football. And here we are.

Try and tell them how much we earn had we been promoted this season. It's not going to happen now, but what could have been.
We would have earned more.
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
That's a line of thinking that just doesn't exist anymore. He owes us nothing and he'll be lining up for Wolves very shortly after they meet our valuation of him, if they indeed do so.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 12:21 pmKoleosho owes us some loyalty after we nursed him through his injury

IMO we now need 5-6 players in within the next week.
2x wingers, 2x CM, 1x CF and possibly 1x left back. Anything less and I think we will struggle to finish top 2

Three. Central midfielder. Winger. Striker. Think that'll be okay and isn't unrealistic.Oldparkwood wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 12:40 pmIMO we now need 5-6 players in within the next week.

I feel like I've spent my entirety as a Burnley fan saying we need a centre mid.

Personally I would like Traff gone to fetch funds in and us to demand top money for Luca and no sale if it's not coming.

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
I’ve got no problem with any of the players we’ve sold thus far. O’Shea is disappointing but it was going to be a big ask to keep both him and Esteve.
Whilst it’s led to a turbulent period, we’ve made significant profits on virtually all outgoings. This was always coming given the money we’ve laid out over the last two summers. It was extremely naive to think otherwise. With the outgoings all happening so late, there’s probably been a false sense of security generated as a result.
Yesterday was a perfect storm. When the dust settles this time next week, things will look a lot brighter.
That said, if we sell any one of Koloesho, Cullen or Brownhill this week, without quality replacements, I won’t be pleased.

These aren’t links or rumours but just a list of players I think we should be looking at (Alan if you are reading, not that you listen to anyone other than bulb head)
Cm/Am - Hannibal, Billing, Cundle, flemming, sheaf
Wingers - bruun Larsen, Whitaker, Sarmiento, Johnston, matondo, Anthony
Strikers - cannon, stansfield, akpom

I've read Wolves are limited in how much they can spend due to FFP. Don't know if that's true or whether the earth is round.

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
I get that we've gone down, players are coming to terms with relegation clauses in their contracts, and we needed to dramatically manage down numbers over the summer. And that we'd have all of the normal nonsense at this stage of the window of agents/ clubs trying to unsettle players, unfounded rumours etc.
But this is all very worrying.
Scott's theoretically right that players should want to be at Burnley, otherwise they can leave. But there comes a point where we have to hold on to the bare bones of our squad to give us the best chance of going back up, for both sporting and financial reasons. That ultimately means not entertaining bids for a core group, even if it means they're a bit disgruntled and individuals end up winding contracts down. As per Sean with Tarky and a number of others. Ultimately our young players are professionals, and most should act professionally if they want a future in the game.

There are clearly more leaving - Parker said so.
I imagine we will lose at least 2 of
Weghorst
Koleosho
Amdouni
Vithino
Brownhill
For me we simply must hold onto Brownhill and Koleosho - I'm not convinced Amdouni is up for a season in the Champ.
We probably need at lest 3 coming in - winger, decent forward and a CM

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
We are a top 6 side now. Let's forget top 2, that's not happening. You sell Koleosho and it's already top 10. You sell Amdouni, Brownhill and Vitinho and it's mid-table at very best. It's a bog-standard average Championship side.BabylonClaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 1:34 pmThere are clearly more leaving - Parker said so.

Yup.
There’s potentially another £70m worth of outgoings still to shift yet.

Amdouni has already been linked away by Fabrizio I think
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
While I agree. If we lose one or two from it things look completely different. Id also argue in terms of progression there dosnt seem to be much with half of that team still being the side we fielded in this division two years ago.Passing Clouds wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 1:13 pmI’m a sucker for punishment I know but a starting XI of…

Trafford Vs Muric debate has been done to death
Bellis and Maatsen likely better than Worral and Humphreys
All of Roberts Brownhill Cullen Foster Vitiniho were in this side two years ago.
I suspect Amdouni will go which leaves Koleosho, if we can retain him, as the only upgrade from two years ago.
And I've not even started including your likes of Benson, Zaraory, Tella. We are now considerably weaker than we were two years ago at this level. That's a worry.

There’s only benson and weghorst to add to al-dakhil that we know are leaving. Then you have links with McNally, Vitinho, Amdouni and koleosho.BabylonClaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 1:34 pmThere are clearly more leaving - Parker said so.

We could actually still keep the last 3 and replace with 3 or 4 and the squad suddenly looks better again with Redmond Ramsey tresor Ekdal and Beyer to come back to

A very realistic part of me thinks that Brownhills contract means he'll be off., weghorst will be off and Amdouni will be off. Part of me thinks we know Koleosho going is suicide and unless it's a massive bid it's not happening. Vitiniho is anyone's guess.BabylonClaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 1:34 pmThere are clearly more leaving - Parker said so.

What's clear to me, keeping Koleosho alone is not enough, we need a couple of others to stay. I think we are lucky Ramsey is out. I am glad he's staying, baring any major set backs I think he'll be an asset in this league.

We don't need seven players as it stands. We will have a much reduced squad size, so the focus needs to be on getting the right players, rather than a certain number of players. That said, who knows what the next few days will bring.claretskeith wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 1:52 pmI'm looking forward to these. I currently have it at around 7 players needed. If we keep amoundi, brownhill and Vitinho but well weghorst, benson, al-dakhil and McNally we would still only have 4 squad places for players over 21. Any loans regardless of age have to be registered to.
So if you want 7 signings more would have to leave
