We are possibly the only team that I've ever heard of that is going to effectively have sold all of their marquee signings from the year prior.
It's a lot simpler than you are suggesting and if it isn't, it's because of other factors at play.
For the 100th time, he was quite happy to come on against Cardiff and Sunderland, and to be fair to him, put a real shift in.
Just because we are the first to do it, doesn’t just mean it’s just the owners cashing in on, if we were cashing in amdouni wouldn’t be a loan deal, he has clearly said now it’s the end of the window he wants to go.
Zaroury refused to be in the squad for the Cardiff game because he wanted to leave. Trafford is desperate to leave but fair play he’s playing still.

Except that you have to add Worrall, Hannibal (reported as having signed a permanent deal today), Humphries, and possibly the other 2 who were reported as having medicals yesterday, which takes it back up to 25
Haven't seen any confirmation from the club re hannibal, although there has been some from the utd end. And I question whether the deals for the other 2 will actually go through, seem to have stalled.

For me the jury is out with Sarmiento. Yes he has skill … tricky but for Brighton and other clubs he hasent really shown anything. A bench warmer at best coming on in last 10 minutes type player for me.
I watched one of the Ecuador games in the Copa America this summer and in all honesty I'd never heard of him before it- he was so good I looked him up and remember thinking 'oh typical, he plays for Brighton'. He was the stand out player on the pitch.

Who said anything about an set amount?
A lot of these players will have clauses such as "if we get relegated, my agent has the ability to talk on my behalf to that club" or words to that affect.
That's how we will entice them here in the first place, making it attractive to leave and not be hunkered in on a 5 year deal.
It's usually a good idea if you don't understand a subject to not chat about that subject lol.

Estève is still here. Both Josh C and B are here. Foster is still here. Beyer and Ekdal will be fine in this league when they return.
Weghorst will be gone as will Benson because they don't want to stay.
We desperately need to keep Koleosho.
Fair point, but we have already seen how much it affected Josh B on Saturday and tbh Foster is just far too hit and miss.
My point being there are just too many first team and good squad players all being removed at the same time, which is always going to create absolute chaos,

I suspect Trafford playing to put him in the shop window, I wonder why there's no takers, I'm certainly desperate for him to leave.

I follow all that, but I am guessing he did not anticipate the volume of departures would be of this scale
But it had to be, because of the size of the squad. He knew the squad size, and knew the permitted size.
The players who've left might not be the ones the supporters wanted to leave, but other clubs only want the good players, not the also ran's

There's a lot of conjecture here like and ultimately the club does have to have a bit of a say with their players.
My concern is the sh1tshow left by the arrogant one, mixed with the boards' naivety has created this environment and it's gone off a bit like dominoes... As I have stated before, the reactions from Brownhill, Parker & Esteve on BBC Radio Lancs following the game at Sunderland were revealing.

I’m pondering the alternate realities to compare departures under these scenarios:
1. BFC drop and Kompany leave (this reality sadly)
2. BFC drop and Kompany stays
3. BFC stay up and Kompany leaves
4. BFC stay up and Komoany stays
I reckon ‘3’ would also have been fairly dramatic. A big change in manager / playing style while being courted by 3rd parties. ‘2’ may also have been like a stampede if the atmosphere was as toxic as claimed.

The reaction from those 3 yes could be aimed at the board for how they are dealing with things but it could also be aimed at players who have left or let them down by refusing to play.
Like I said I don’t particularly like the ownership and certain members of the ownership group come across like really unlikeable people but it’s an easy thing to put the sole blame on them this summer. Kompany has left us in this mess but then so has the recruitment team by identifying the players
One thing for certain is come 11pm on Friday the squad and manager we have will need the fans support because for whatever reason they have been dealt a shocking hand over the last 2 weeks

I agree with this - we need to back the players and staff who remain when Saturday comes. I dread to think what a massive defeat and embarrassment by that lot down the road will do to the "Matchday Experience" that Alan wants going forward, but we need to keep supporting those pulling on the shirt for us.

I suppose one thing that is crystallising from this is an understanding of why last seasons team showed such a lack of fight, passion and desire to stay up. Why their heads buckled the second they went a goal behind and why they generally looked, to a man, like they didn’t give much of a **** whether Burnley got relegated or not.
They knew they’d be leaving anyway.
This is definitely the risk of signing folk to give them their stepping stone to the limelight. Playing them all at once last season and freezing out the guys who would be wanting to keep their new found wage increase might have at least given more fight to the cause. Also hoofing the likes of Barnes (who would have been more of a squad 'enforcer') just served to make the situation worse.

I have a concern that the team and bench we fielded against Sunderland, which wasn’t fit for purpose, will be with a couple of omissions and a couple of additions, barely any better and still not acceptable against Blackburn

If Koleosho wants to go,sell him,he looked like he was sulking against Cardiff pulling collar on his shirt with his lip out.Get youth players in,if they impress sell em.Thats the way Burnley has always been, Dobson,James,Thomas, Steven, etc etc.UTC.

Except that you have to add Worrall, Hannibal (reported as having signed a permanent deal today), Humphries, and possibly the other 2 who were reported as having medicals yesterday, which takes it back up to 25
Except we now know that Sarmiento didn’t have a medical yesterday and is part of the Brighton squad to play tonight. All of the rest is just rumour, wishful thinking and conjecture until actually confirmed as a done deal.

fit for purpose? the purpose being playing a professional football match yeah?
