Don't follow any pundits but intrigued by this Sacha bloke. All I know about him is what I read on here. He appears to have knowledge about deals (sometimes to a forensic level) that he shouldn't have. This leads me to the thought that he is hand in glove with agents and possibly some clubs. If so he is a very dangerous character to have around football. Some info will be true leaked to help his credibility but others, as some have suggested, to manipulate the market. I may be alone but I think the football authorities should be checking up on him and some others.

"No one leaves unless we want to sell" I'm assuming that's an attempt at humour. It's a free for all if you've ever seen 1 literally everything is up for grabs.ArmchairDetective wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 2:28 pmFor a lot of players I imagine it's not as simple as either wanting to stay or go. Many will probably be fairly happy where they are but will always have one eye on their next move, that's the job of their agents.
From my outside perspective we need to play hard ball between now and the end of the window. No one leaves unless we want to sell or if they want to leave so much that they'll be a negative influence on the dressing room.
I suppose the flaw in the above approach is that Alan Pace seems to want to sell everything he knows exists at the moment. Let's hope he's got that out of his system now.

Several posters already putting Dubbin on their boots ready for Saturday.
Quantity over Quality.

Just to add I have it on fairly good authority that they are currently doing a Colette Rooney and putting loads of information out which is rubbish to see what comes out in the public domain.

Formal bid for Whittaker according to Romano

Is that the Colette Rooney who works in Poundland in Skipton?

Decent - like I said on the striker thread, I can’t say as I know too much of him but his record and age make him an obvious target. Get him in…and we need another too if Lyle goes.

I wonder what he would cost. Plymouth are brassic and unlikely to have much ability to turn sizeable bids down, he’s contracted until 2027.
I’d have thought £12-15m.

Has been playing more right side lately but I’ve been bigging him up since Xmas.

Only last week I was saying Whittaker hasn’t massively impressed me when I’ve seen him. Perhaps we can put that down to him playing in a poor team? His goal return is impressive in fairness. More of a right sided left footed winger than striker, albeit plays as a 10 on the occasion.

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
A few days ago it was reported that Argyle want 10 million for him. If we are in for him the board must think that he can become a 20 to 30m player. Should that would go some way to showing that the board aren't just intent on selling every available asset.claretburns wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 2:59 pmWill be delighted with Whittaker coming in, but he needs to be one of many.

Reckon you won’t be far off there. Possibly 10m base up to 12-15m in possible bonuses?jedi_master wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 3:03 pmI wonder what he would cost. Plymouth are brassic and unlikely to have much ability to turn sizeable bids down, he’s contracted until 2027.

You suspect with most transfer offers made these days, there has been some encouragement from either the selling club or the player himself?ClaretOfMancunia wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 3:00 pmhttps://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1828793267624034567

Rarely bids are made which would be deemed a waste of time..........

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
There's a lot of things we need to be doing but we aren't. It's far too late in the day for that now they've gone or are in advanced negotiations. From the outset all this should have been worked out maximum numbers out maximum numbers in. Maybe a few I've caught the club on the hop with agents putting word out & other clubs approaching the club causing disarray. It just smacks of last minute instead of being organised.ArmchairDetective wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 3:08 pmDid you miss the bit when I said 'from my perspective we need to...'. Thinking positively (see, I am capable of that), if we could somehow ward off the interest in Koleosho, Foster, Vitinho and Brownhill and be able to put this out:
Trafford
Vitinho Worrall Esteve Pires
Whittaker Brownhill Hannibal Cullen Koleosho
Foster
That is a decent looking team in fairness - as ever, the devil would be in the detail. The detail being depth - we’ve lost a lot of players and we need a bench that can change things up, not convinced we have that at the moment. Would still need another 4 players for me (inc Anthony).

Because the manager lacked prgmatism, and believed in unachievable ideologies, that made them look like they were a very naive development team, rather than a competitive, structured, orgnanised first team.

Burnley have submitted formal bid to Plymouth to sign Morgan Whittaker.
But I would feel too guilty, taking him away and just leaving them with Obafemi just doesn't seem right.

At last … a lad that looks like a footballer. Athletic …. 6 foot …Pace … both footed.
Scores goals … can play on wing and in middle. Get him signed up.

Certainly not moaning about players like whittaker getting linked. But this is exactly what you don't want. Scrambling round a day out submitting first bids to clubs who know you're desperate.
Anyway, let's hope this is the first if many and we get 3 or 4 over the line.

Said it earlier but I'm not convinced Foster is going to end up playing as a striker over the longer term.

The explosion in popularity of these transfer dweebs amazes me - particularly in a world where you can bet on next club for a player and a 24 hour TV station reporting on the speculation too.
Makes me really uneasy.

He started 13 premier league games last year and 34 the year before (with 7 goals 3 assists) - Iraola didn't fancy him as much and they had new players come in which is why he obviously slipped down the pecking order and is now available

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
It's a good point, but I believe it's because individually we have (or in some cases had) some extremely talented players and that was clear, even as we watched defeat after defeat last season. They just lacked organisation and tactics, too many of them were played out of position or asked to perform roles they weren't suited for and ultimately far too many with "potential" as opposed to genuine experience were thrust together into the same teams and that's clearly a huge gamble. Oderbert, for just one example will be in a team at Spurs with likely 10 other proven top class professionals and be given a role which plays to his strengths. Then he has a genuine chance to shine.dandeclaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 3:19 pmBecause the manager lacked prgmatism, and believed in unachievable ideologies, that made them look like they were a very naive development team, rather than a competitive, structured, orgnanised first team.

If that happens then 11 goals scored so far this season but all of the scorers have left the building.Guller Bull wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 3:20 pmI think if he brings in Billing then there is a good chance that Josh B will be gone. That would have to be a first for any EFL club after just 3 games in.

Plymouth are pretty desperate too - he's been linked with Rangers all summer but they've held firm at the £10m valuation with Rangers only going up to £8 - hopefully we can match that as even Rooney admitted he'd go if that was metwillsclarets wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 3:24 pmCertainly not moaning about players like whittaker getting linked.
