STARTING LINEUP:

Hladky 6 - Kept us in with some brilliant saves, but also made a big blunder before the first goal. I like him overall, and would be confident with him being our number 1 for the rest of the season.

Humphreys 6 - OK debut.

Worrall 6 - Made some nice tackles, but also struggled when their players were running at him. I also heard he was very vocal, which is alway a plus.

McNally 6 - Had a few risky passes but not bad.

Egan-Riley 5 - Shouted for the ball a lot, but made a lot of mistakes in dangerous zones.

Brownhill 6 - Won a lot of space a few times and managed to carry the ball. Hopefully subbed off to get ready for Saturday.

Hannibal 6 - Very energetic. I think he will be a big player for us.

Massengo 7 MOTM - Showed some nice skills tonight. Little bit naive at times, but works really hard.

Sambo 7 - Considering he is a right back who played as a left winger, I was pleasantly surprised.

Hountondji 3 - I'm really sorry, but once again, he didn't look like a professional footballer. I don't want to write him off after only two games - where he played out of position - but he needs to improve quickly.

Jay Rod 3 - Sadly, not good enough anymore.

SUBS:

McDermott 6 - Tried hard and pressed a lot, but game bypassed him.

Pires 6 - I've seen a lot of posters saying he was awful but I didn't notice that many mistakes.

Roberts 6
- Unusual to see him in midfield.

Foster 5
- Better than Rodriguez, but still couldn't do much against their defenders.

MANAGER:

Parker 6 - Harsh to judge with so many outgoings and injuries. Need to be more brave and dangerous in the final third, though.

If this season has taught us anything so far it’s that things can turn around very quickly but at the moment it feels like it’s going to be a very long season.

We have to bring in some serious attacking players in the next 48 hours.

Sambo 5 - looked alright but obv not a left winger
Rodriguez 3 - miles off the pace

Roberts 5 - obv out of position
Foster 5
McDermott 6 - looks tidy

Hladky - 6 - a string of good saves (particularly the one onto the post) to keep us in it but then a horrendous decision for the key 1st goal

CJER - 5 - can play but didn't look overly comfortable
Worrall - 6 not quick enough to play that high a line however good his positional sense
McNally - 6 - I think we can develop him
Humphreys - 7 - competent debut
Sambo - 6

Massengo - 6
Hannibal - 7 - good energy
Brownhill - 6

Rodriguez - 3 - non-existent. If he's starting on Saturday the window will have failed
Hountondji - 4 - not a winger from 2 views and again does not look 1st team ready

Roberts - 6 - he can play midfield because that's where Kompany played him a lot. But I hope he's not Brownhill's replacement
Pires - 5 - jury still out for me
Mcdermott - 6 - well done young man.
Foster - 5. Has he downed tools? Is he off? Not sure why'd he be risked if he was off?

A world away from Cardiff at home I thought we did ok considering he's had to cobble something together.

That forward line wouldn't trouble a League 2 defence tho. And he knows that.

I didn't have access to all the match so can't mark but I thought Foster looked overweight tonight imo and certainly carrying more heft than he did at Luton, I just hope we aren't stuck with him now given the transfer talk of the last 24 hours because yet again he hardly put a shift in when introduced

Foster is developing a habit of not trying a leg. He's probably another we need to get shut of but it will leave us desperately short.

From TV.

Hladky - 8 - Everything I want from a goalkeeper, basic solid work. Single handedly kept the score down with many good saves and a very good double save. Thought he might have done slightly better for the first but that’s nit picking.

Egan-Riley - 6 - played right back and did OK. Subbed at half-time.

McNally - 7 - Right centre back, later when Worrall went of, main centre back playing more central. I was quietly impressed with him. Solid, short passing good, long passing poor. When Worrall went off he took command of the defence well.

Worrall - 5 - Left centre back. Not a good start. Of course he’s not played with any of those around him so perhaps I should give him some slack. The two goals showed his lack of pace.

Humphreys - 6 - Left back, later right back second half. Did quite well in both positions. A solid start in a difficult situation.

Hountondji - 4 - Right wing then centre forward when Rodriguez went off. Offered very little but worked hard. It’s difficult to see what he can give the team.

Massengo - 6 - Centre mid. Lots of energy and some good things, both dribbling, passing and tackling.

Brownhill - 6 - Centre mid, sometimes the Cullen role. Tried to hold it all together but it was difficult to create much or stop the Wolves attacks.

Sambo - 5 - Left wing. There looks to be something there but I’m not sure what it is! Seem to contribute something in the first half but thought he’d gone off at half-time!

Hannibal - 6 - Centre mid forward. Played only the first half. You could see he was trying but it was difficult to get anything from our forwards. Promising though.

Rodriquez - 3 - Centre forward. Offered very little. He ran about as best he could. Most of his passing didn’t work (perhaps because he wasn’t use to the players around him), didn’t win one header, couldn’t hold onto the ball and absolutely no goal threat whatsoever.

Subs:

Pires - 6 - Left back. Sub on at half-time. Defensively OK.

Roberts - 7 - centre mid, replacing Brownhill. I thought he relished this role. Lots of energy and good play. Is this his best position?

McDermott - 6 - Centre mid forward. Replaced Hannibal at half-time. Lively, confident game. A good start.

Foster - 6 - Left wing, then centre forward. Won our first header and continued to do so. Was able to hold onto the ball and generally put in the work to some effect.

Well, I expected worse. To only lose 2-0 was perhaps the best that could be expected in the situation.

This situation meant that this match had to be used to give some new boys a run out and a bunch of players that could hardly have played together some game time. Furthermore an eye also had to be kept on availability for Saturday’s match. The preparation for this match must have been limited and difficult.

Wolves had some talented players on show and we should bare that in mind.

As such I can be generally satisfied with the effort, some general passing about, some individual players abilities, but nothing much else. Our defence was ripped apart too often, our attack was practically non-existent. Some players looked individually limited even allowing for the circumstances.

Basically it seems to have been a match nobody wanted to be played.

Not marking but seen a few comments, elsewhere, about Worralls lack of pace. Not true.
He was beaten by the turn but in the chase he never lost an inch.

I don't think Worrall is sluggish by any means, but I do wonder how much our ability to defend with such a high line will be impacted by O'Shea's departure. Having Esteve alongside him should help. That said, having a defensive line 20 yards inside the opposition half as was the case for Wolves' second was never going to end well.

Hladky 7 - Mostly very good but a bit strange for their opener.
Egan-Riley 6 - OK in most areas.
McNally 6 - The odd stray pass mixed in with some positives.
Worrall 6 - Settling in but will turn into a key part of this team. Sluggish for the Prem but we'll like him.
Humphreys 6 - Thought he could be our LB.

Brownhill 6 - Similar to Saturday. Hard to play with litle ahead of you.
Massengo 6 - Seems silly to say it but he's a poor man's Cullen. Lacks an edge in every fashion. Needs some bite and end product. Looks nice and tidy but you don't get promoted with players like this as key. Can you see him scoring? Creating? Biting? Looks like a 5-a-side player.
Hountondji 4 - Slightly better than Saturday.
Hannibal 6 - Looks a good signing. Has a burst. Has desire. Has direction. Not eveything came off. A few mistakes but he is what we need.
Sambo 6 - Did well without really looking like breaking through their defensive line.
Rodriguez 4 - Not an easy night. I still see value in him being part of the squad but nothing much great to comment on.

Roberts 6
Pires 5
McDermott 7 - I thought he looked much better than I expected. Had some energy and neat touchses.
Foster 5
Hugill 5 - lightweight but OK.

Hladky 6 some good moments
Egan-Riley 5
McNally 6
Worral 6 reads game well but looked a bit slow
Humphreys 7
Brownhill 6
Massengo 7
Hannibal 6
Hountonji 5
Sambo 6
Rodriguez 3 Awful. Should be in League 1 at best. Becoming painful to watch.

Subs :
Roberts 7 looked to have energy and fight
All others 6
A good moment for the young lads.

Could have been a lot worse with this decimated and thrown together team. Parker spoke very well again afterwards and sounds honest.

Going forward we look horrific. We wouldn’t have scored if we had played all night. This needs sorting out and fast.

Hladký 7 - some excellent saves
Egan-Riley 5 Not great, esp after doing so well on Saturday
McNally 5 He's not the answer
Worrall 6 Looks very slow
Humphreys 7 Tidy
Hountondji 3 Why on earth have we bought this guy???
Massengo 6 Works hard
Brownhill 5 Didn't realise he was playing for the 1st 20 mins. (genuinely)
Sambo 5 Pretty anonymous in a bizarre position.
Hannibal 6 Runs a lot.
Rodríguez 3 I feel embarrassed watching him now.

Subs:
McDermott 6 Some nice touches
Pires 4 Meh
Roberts 4 Another player in a bizarre position
Foster 5 Tried

We are absolutely miles off having a decent team. This is getting worse each game.
I'm bloody furious at what has happened in the last 2 weeks.
