Ins tomorrow
Whittaker
Fleming
Sarmiento
Fernandes
Outs
Mcnally
Benson
Vitinho
I think your "outs" are absolutely spot on, just unsure re Benson.
"Ins" Sarmiento Flemming and Whittaker and we are absolutely cooking. *Don't know enough about Fernandes

I didn’t fully understand it when listening to a podcast on this very topic, but my basic understanding is that it does exactly that. It pushes the amortisation into the next financial year rather than this one.
Yes but you'll pay a loan fee as well which limits the year one advantage so my instinct is there's more going on than that.

Not sure it would go into next financial year, isn’t the football financial year 1st August to 31st July, wouldn’t the obligations hit on the 1st July when new player contract years start

Exactly. A big loan fee means they get a large sum in 1st year, probably more than a normal transfer
probably, do you know that, or not, what did you do for a living
Or we look like we are trying to sign them when actually we aren't

Teams trying to find a way round the new rules. Won't it snowball so you end up doing the same every year?

Got to be time to take a calculated risk now. Get Whitaker and Flemming in for the cost of selling Odobert.
If we're adrift in January, Luca is there to balance it out if needed.
These loan to buy deals are just insulting clubs and making us look ridiculous.

Would you not point that out please, it may stop people coming on and having a pop at the board over something else. Some logging in just to have another go.

Seems to me like there is an awful lot of toxic posters on here - if you can't say anything positive please shut up! You all know who you are and it's getting beyond embarrassing. I know it's a discussion about possible transfers but the same posters post the same negatives all the time and frankly they just look dull, antagonistic and downright hostile to me.

Some of them are trolls just on to wind up and some have no idea. There is a post just above blaming Pace for incomings as though he is the only person involved in a very complicated process. 2 or more clubs, 2 managers, an agent and a player. It all has to align, not all of them just bow to our desires.

Anyone interested in how football clubs should account for player loans and transfers and other typical football transactions may want to read:
Accounting for typical transactions in the football industry - IFRS Accounting Standards Guide - January 2024 by PwC
https://viewpoint.pwc.com/dt/gx/en/pwc/ ... try-v4.pdf
The document is 50 pages, including photos (and some blank spaces).
I've not read it, yet. I'm sure it's worth a glance.

Burnley, from the English 2nd division, made a loan offer to Grêmio for 19-year-old Nathan Fernandes.
The English club did not propose any value for the loan, but rather a mandatory purchase clause if the Grêmio striker played 50% of the season's games. The values, in this case, would be 10 million euros + bonus.
The Grêmio leadership has already rejected the proposal.
I really don’t see any point in this. Ok, the lad has played one senior game for Gremio, but he has nothing that our own Vernon Masara hasn’t got.
It may be sexy to get a Brazilian (figuratively speaking), but we have our very own goalscoring Zimbabwean.
I remind you : 21 goals in all competitions last season. (Some will say “but at what level?”, but you can only perform against what they put in front of you.

I’d be happy to take him as he does score a good number of goals. Even if it means waiting until October

He only signed for them in Jan for £12m Euros. Only scored 1 in 13 though so they might be getting rid

He looked a really hot prospect about 12 months ago.
Maybe a loan to reignite his career

Think we were linked with Orban before he went to Lyon. See he has been linked with a loan move over last few weeks.
