Yeah you'd think that'd be enough, as I said it's speculation. Given the players we've sold and the willingness to see them go, plus the loan-to-buy offers we're submitting all over the place, my instinct says the cashflow isn't altogether healthy. A big cash offer for Trafford, and perhaps that changes our window a bit last minute. We're all a bit in the dark thoughmybloodisclaret wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 10:43 amWhat about the Wout / Amdouni / McNally and Viti money, all have left or are extremely likely to leave yesterday or today? I know we don't get it all up front, but is guaranteed revenue into BFC.

SSN is just a tough watch in general now.
I used to have it on in the background throughout the day and watch it on and off, now I can barely last 20 minutes.

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
From a Plymouth fan site.
Verdict: This is probably exactly what we all feared. With the hours ticking down at the end of this transfer window, it is being reported that a deal which would see Morgan Whittaker head to Burnley has advanced, with a fee supposedly being agreed between the two sides.
The report surfaced this morning from Pete O’Rourke in Football Insider. Many have taken comfort from the fact that O’Rourke hasn’t been particularly accurate with his reporting on Argyle this summer. And that’s a fair assessment, but the tone here is very different. Rather than suggested “talks have opened,” or that a club are “weighing up a move,” O’Rourke explicitly states here that “a transfer is now expected to go through.”
There have been no details on the value of such a bid, nor any confirmation as to whether this is the culmination of the “loan with an obligation to buy” offer that was mooted yesterday. Clearly, without a frankly astronomical fee being agreed this would be seen as a disappointing deal, particularly given the interest Argyle knocked back for the player in January.
I’m now very much of the view that this deal is more likely than not to progress. It’s not certain, and O’Rourke’s record does work against him, but this appears to be at an advanced stage. If the transfer does indeed come off, Argyle will have plenty of explaining (and plenty of business) to do.
Rumour rating (/5): ★★★★

Even better, don't announce it and just bang him in the team for tomorrow, another unknown problem for neighbours. Hoping that is what is happening with Cullen and Koleosho. With those in the team we are a completely different beast.willsclarets wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 10:59 amyup, midday. Has there been a single genuinely reputable source tha's reported that Foster is agitating for a move, or is it all the usual utc cack we're going off?..
Went straight down the tunnel...that kind of empty-headed bilge.
Definitely the usual cack!

There could be a few reasons why he went straight down the tunnel - maybe as simple as he was desperate for the loo!

Tella scored 17 with 5 assists.
You would be looking for a player to score at least that many in a season to be challenging at the top end of the table.

I know we all want to beat that lot tomorrow but we must remember that we still have 42 league games left after Saturday. We have until 11 tonight to get reinforcements in that will help us be in the fight for the top places in this league.

I think we may need to stop looking too far into these loan to buy options ....
It's got to be to do with the FFP and playing it best we can
there is no way we have zero cash flow or no access to cash if it's needed.
These guys like it or not live in this world finacially so they must know what they are doing

I know that a lot of this has been called already but no harm in repeating:
- Sarmiento and Laurent are done and available for tomorrow. (Transfer wise, not sure about fitness)
- Whittaker is a goer and progressing.

If Sarmiento and Laurent signed then we are full at 25 IMO so more to leave if more coming in unless as i stated before any of our 3 long term injured (Bayer Redmond and Ekdal) are left out of the 25

Exactly. It was almost certain that any signings made today would not feature against Rovers anyway. The important thing is to get the players in before the deadline - and not lose any more key players.Conroysleftfoot wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 11:07 amI know we all want to beat that lot tomorrow but we must remember that we still have 42 league games left after Saturday. WHU properly hawking Ings out also, they want his wages off the bill and willing to contribute. Don't think it will make a difference to us but don't be surprised to see him turn up in the champ or old firm

Don't know much about him but decent pedigree. I'm also not completely sold on either of our fullbacks tbh! Not saying either Roberts or Pires are bad players, far from it I'm being picky. But a quality fullback on either side wouldn't go amiss

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Do we know if Plymouth have signed any additional strikers?
If they have, that might mean the Whittaker deal is still a goer. If not, they're not going to be able to get someone in to replace him, unless theyve someone lined up, so it's probably dead in the water.
To get him and make it happen, we're going to have to pay what Plymouth want.

Not really. It's been pretty scary seeing how bad we were last Saturday, the exposure of our Academy Director's messages and then your whole squad torn apart plus incomings a couple of days before the window shuts.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 11:38 amIF (and it’s a big IF) these deals happen.
