Watched some "earthy football" today. My local side Market Harborough (two successive promotions ) now in Southern League Premier Division Central, 5 minute walk from home and £6 as a concession. Numerous bone crunching tackles, full on aerial battles and a red card. Harborough lost to Redditch 3-1 and I stood next to the Harborough chairman who I know. Seems a million miles away from watching us in the Championship, but its the beauty of football in front of a 400 crowd
Forgot to say, Redditch managed by Tim Flowers

Driving home from 2 weeks in Ingleton back to Norwich via lunch with my son who lives in Lincoln.
Bumped into 2 lads in Lincoln - both wearing their respective club colours - one a Rovers fan and the other a fellow-Claret (Endsleigh-vintage shirt) both getting into the same car. Checked they were OK, of course. Was it anyone on here?

I watched Day 2 of the Dude Perfect International Youth Tournament at Gawthorpe. Some good football on display, the young Clarets went out after the group stage conceding a couple of very late goals to AC Milan. Good news is they are in the plate semi final today against Chicago Fire.

Chelsea v Rangers and Juventus v Wolves compete for the Trophy.

Stood in the drizzle and rain all day watching my daughter play in the morning (won) and a cracking non league game at Penistone Church in the afternoon (won). Quite like an international break, a good palate cleanser after all the transfer guff recently.

4 of us (Accy Clarets) in Teruel, Spain, visiting the 30+ people who visited Burnley last season for the Palace game. Today they're wearing their Burnley shirts and tomorrow we're going to watch Teruel away.
Today we're going to watch Teruel away at SD Logrones, a 500 mile round trip.

Leisure: You are travelling 500 miles to watch a team who are virtually non-league and have a stadium with a capacity of 4,500 ?

Are you flying there or getting a Horse and Cart ?

Just because it's the international break you don't need to take things to the extreme.

When I was watching Garforth vs Wythenshaw yesterday there was a left winger for the opposition that looked a little like George Boyd. I dismissed it was him because he was nothing special and I assumed he’d retired a while ago

Just checked and turns out it was him! Still playing at 40 against some lads less than half his age

Bored! Was really looking forward to watching some Lancs League cricket for the final time this season and of course the weather buggered it up! Feels like it's been a rubbish summer weather wise at the cricket with far more games than normal shortened or not completed and today just put the tin hat on it sadly! Also meant I wasn't able to check out "The Beer Necessities" as planned, so that's a treat for another day.

Yes Boyd was mentioned playing for Wythenshaw the other week when a picture was posted of some ex players on a night out in Manchester (what a team that was) One poster mentioned that Boyd was probably taking home a few hundred quid a week and his mate further along in that picture was probably taking home ( can’t remember exactly) £50k a week.
Well done though George for still playing, he’s 39 next month.

It seems he retired a couple of years ago but returned this season. Probably misses the game.

He lives in Bowdon, so Wythenshawe is only a 15 minute drive
