Foster can do no wrong in some people’s eyes, it’s everyone else’s fault he lacks technical ability. Yet he’s dropping deep to collect the ball like he’s the next David Silva.
The reading comprehension on this site is non-existent with some posters.

He will score goals if he's provided service and show that he's deadly if/when we are playing on the counter.

No doubt about it,we are a work in progress, but against a stubborn side who haven't been beaten away from home since Jan and going one down then that's as good as win as any. The changes on the hour mark made the difference in the end and we finally found some space and dragged them a round a bit more. Food for thought for SP, but we need more creativity in the side when teams like this come to town.

That win, grateful as I am for it, covers a lot of sins. A terrible show against a side that didn’t want to play after halftime. I was happy with Webb up to HT but he never got a grip on their diving, game slowing cheating.
We have shown we can play away at Luton & Leeds but at home against a team that sits and hits us on the break we have a lot to learn.

I think that is the type of performance that Fulham/Bournemouth fans have warned about.

Up to third though so it might not be pretty but it's reasonably effective (as it was for them).

Winning ugly is still a win. I'd rather that than last year where we got thumped with style.

There was a correlation today with last year in which we were incredibly predictable with our play. Pompey picked up on it quickly and stiffled us again and again.

Credit to Parker he made the subs but the tactics were lacking today imho.

Early days, it's 3 points. UTC

There will be more games like this one as well. I think most of the league will put everyone behind the ball and try to hit us.

A ground out 3pts which we’ll take any day….weak referee that allowed disgraceful time wasting in the second half but karma that we won it in time added on…it’s amazing how players recover quicker when they’re losing…we take it, move on, and keep gelling…remember we’re a squad in transition

That was a poor game but I think people forget we had plenty of these under Kompany where moments of magic from Benson etc saved us.

Realistically it's probably a good sign when you're playing poorly but still grinding results out.

We need to improve dramatically at playing through the centre of the pitch though as a lot of teams will sit deep and ask us to make somthing happen.

I actually thought Pompey did an awful job of closing it out even if only for the point. Every single time it went to their keeper he wasted time and then just smashed it back to Trafford. I'd have been livid if we'd been in their situation and just kept giving the opposition the ball back.

It was 71 minutes when it was stopped so that is at least 5 minutes extra, which probably won't happen.
I noticed exactly this as well, the correct time added on yesterday should probably have been, 11 or 12 minutes.

Wasn't the only one, Koleosho and hannibal coming deep to collect because it was taking Worrall an age to get the ball forward, think we need to get Cullen back doing this job and leave Worrall doing what he does best, yes as it turned he got the assist but was when we were throwing caution to the wind.

Sadly, yes. Makes our home matches do boring to watch. Passpasspasspasspasspasspasspassetc
