Somewhat easier to do when you haven't invested £x million in getting them through the gate in the first place,

Re: Tresor
You could well be right, although there were similar things said about Trafford too.Dark Cloud wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 2:35 pmI suspect that he's probably now physically fit, but it's more about attitude and desire. Parker has a fair few options without the need to cajole and pander to a guy who almost certainly doesn't want to be here. He's training and keeping himself in shape with the understanding on all sides that he's extremely unlikely to be called on to actually play and he'll be allowed to leave for decent money (but almost certainly a financial loss) in January. I'm just guessing, but that seems the most likely scenario imo.
What I cannot understand is why we didn’t accept either the loan offer from the French club (forget who) or Ajax if we had no expectation of playing him? Presumably this would have at least got his wages off the books and opened up another place in the squad. Particularly if his attitude isn’t right.
Given we didn’t either deal, it’d suggest either we do expect to use him or we’re not prepared to accept any rubbish deals.
It’d be really helpful if Leverkusen fancied him in a swap deal for Tella!
Re: Tresor
Not much. He's started 3 games (at premier league level in a struggling team) and been ill/injured.warksclaret wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 3:36 pmYou say some readers are disrespectful of Tresor then you go on to say he cannot be any worse than Anthony
Anthony has only been with us 2 months but has already made a major contribution to our performances and results .Whats Tresor done in 14 months ?
Not sure how people have managed to form such strong opinions of him.

Re: Tresor
I hope that the fans are patient with Tresor if and when he returns.
I know that people will be itching for him to reproduce the sort of magic we saw from him last season straightaway but I think it'll take a bit of time for him to hit those sort of peaks again.

Re: Tresor
I know I should trust the club/professionals but it really is driving me mad that he’s been in training for months and seems no closer to being in the Matchday squad.
I can’t understand for the life of me why he can’t be on the bench and available to play 10 minutes in a game like yesterday if he’s trained all week. Instead we’re bringing in Agyei, a 19 year debutant, to try and change the game.
It would make Dark Cloud’s theory more likely, in which case I just wish the club would be honest with us (accept that is also hard) or set our expectations somehow.
It’s just so frustrating that we’re lacking creativity and a guy with so many assists is training but never plays.

Re: Tresor
I don't know why he's not involved - and nor does anyone, and I'm not sure this fevered speculation is particularly helpful - but I hope he can be available soon. Given his record in Belgium you'd think he'd be an asset at this level and we lack a ball-playing midfielder with set piece expertise, same as we miss another top quality wide option such as Nathan Redmond, who is in a similar bracket.

The Legend of Tresor. - It's up there with Shergar and Loed Lucan.
Re: Tresor
They don't wanna get him injured in a game so best to leave him out in prep for a Jan move.

Re: Tresor
Anthony has contributed 2 points with his crosses for goals
Also we have Sarmiento who looks a far better player than Magic Mike ever did in his cameo roles last season

Re: Tresor
It's all a sham, the player formerly known as Mike Tresor no longer exists. While VK was giving him a big time bo!!ocking, he evaporated.

Out of any conjecture on this thread I'd say Darkcloud's is the most plausible.

If we don’t see him before the November international break then we won’t see him at all, he’s trained more then Flemming has

There's still a bad taste in the mouth regarding the group of players who apparently disrespected the club in the summer, as per the Q&A thread. Until he can prove otherwise, rightly or wrongly, but understandably, Tresor is being viewed with the same suspicion.

Re: Tresor
Not many players coveted themselves in glory last season, and I think Tresor only played 16 times or something. Its not his fault we paid so much, or that kompany bought 8 players with a similar profile. That said when he did play, he looked woefully under prepared for the physical aspects of the English game, particularly in a relegation fight.
It takes some players a while to adapt, and he didn't get that time. And it's unfortunate he then got malaria too. I think the vilification is a bit unfair, given we don't know many facts at all. I do however think he's a much better player than he's i) shown so far and ii) given the credit for on here. He clearly has pedigree.
I hope we see him in a Burnley shirt soon turning in some performances that live up to his ability, even if he does move on in January

Re: Tresor
Was it not revealed by Matt Williams recently that he wanted to leave, but was told by the club that in view of the investment made in him, they wanted him fit again and playing, enabling the club to recoup part or all of his fee. It seems he has had the equivalent of two pre-seasons and no where near being ready. No disrespect to Agyei who I am sure will go on to become a great player but when he is coming on in a key game when one of your most expensive signings is no where to be seen does not sit well.

Beginning to suspect that if he plays again we will have to pay more than we have ready for him.

Re: Tresor
He played around 180 minutes, a lot of them cameos in a struggling team and he’s already been written off by many. All part of the sense of entitlement and delusion of grandeur some fans have because we’ve seen such a successful era at the club in recent memory.
Re: Tresor
Tresor is Burnley’s “Winston Bogarde”
