Moseley Road

Has Moseley Road reopened yet past the Royal Butterfly? Been a nightmare getting out of Burnley last few home games up Tod Road.

Showing open on the street guide Web site and Google maps.Last time I jogged down there last week it was open but down to one lane. It was a bit of a squeeze for cars. It's supposed to be access only for local residents on that road but I think a lot of drivers ignore it and use it as a short cut. Pretty sure it's not enforced. Has anybody ever been pulled over and/ or fined?

It is access only. I seem to remember a few years back after a game the police did spot checks. Don't know if they issued warnings or fines, but it was certainly a one-off.

As above a few years back a policeman was at the train crossing turning cars back but since then nothing.

It’s been access only for years but I can’t recall anyone having been done for going straight through. I often walk down that way to the Turf.

Also, if you use Rock Lane to access it or come off it, you bypass the bit where the once-in-a-lifetime police check is anyway.

Sometimes divert up Rock Lane when the queue up Tod Road is particularly long/slow moving. Never had any issues. There can then be a queue down Glen View Road to the summit lights. If I'm dropping my dad off on Westbourne avenue South I'll go via Moorland Road which comes out at the Rose and Crown. Then drop my dad off and come out at the top of cog Lane. Living just up the hill from the Usha I'm almost home. Saves loads of time.

I lived in Halifax for about 10 years but moved back to Burnley last September, currently on Rossendale Avenue.
