Re: Post match interviews v Millwall
Parker is able to identify the way that Millwall play as being "very effective". Front-footed and aggressive.
I wonder if he will go as far as to question why he sets us up in the opposite way, then?

Sorry Scott, but we definitely weren’t up for the battle.
Re: Post match interviews v Millwall
Why are we setting up to nullify the oppositions “threats” every game? Get at them, take the game to them and attack, by doing this you nullify their threats. Far too negative in thinking and set up.

Re: Post match interviews v Millwall
We really need to stop identifying our shortcomings and start doing something about fixing them. SP has to stop talking a good game and start looking to play on the front foot instead of trying to always nullify what the opposition are going to do, and then letting them do it, anyway.

On the BBC site:
"The long pause in the game [when the linesman was injured] may have been a factor.
"We are a young team, the players have maybe not seen that before.
"After that point, Millwall seemed to get some momentum. Then in the second half we never really got going."

Re: Post match interviews v Millwall
As boring as the football.
Re: Post match interviews v Millwall
He seems to be giving out a mixed message. He mentions us being short in the final third as we lack quality but we will definitely fix it and 'get there'. How? You've just said yourself we don't have the quality.
Also, he mentioned us being short of experience and very young as a bit of a problem, namechecked Houtandji as an example of this, yet he had Rodriguez on the bench? It was literally his decision to go with the inexperience 'in that sense'.
I must say his team also reflects his personality. Very bland and emotionless. He seems anxious everytime he's interviewed hence him repeating the same quotes over and over again until they basically become a catchphrase.

Very revealing interview. The priority was seeming to nullify their threats rather than actually imposing ourselves on the game.
The linesman excuse is just a joke, come on now.

Re: Post match interviews v Millwall
Obviously set up for a 0-0 but it’s the defences fault for allowing a 6’ 6” centre half to dominate us ,perhaps someone should tell him that attack is the best form of defence,we’ve employed another no mark manager that’s had his day in the sun ,give him the elbow and let Jack Cork have a go .He can’t be any less boring.

Re: Post match interviews v Millwall
Could hear Millwall manager Neil Harris giving an interview to someone in the background on Radio Lancashire he said that after 20mins he could see that Burnley had run out of ideas that’s a damming comment on the clarets tactics, what he seemed to miss was that but for a bit of slack defending that resulted in a goal Millwall where hardly overflowing with ideas either!
