If LK could play football he'd be half decent, give us £40m and we'll chuck in Mighty Mike. Although I reckon this story is Scheiße

If Kompany can get the manager's job there, anything is possible...

I assumed he meant Koleosho when he uttered that £100m nonsense
So 50 should be easy? Right?!

£100M not a penny less - he has to save face (not sure which one though) on that statement surely

It’s genuinely mental how inflated the market is, Koleosho honestly wouldn’t have been worth more than 5 a few years back

“Potential” in it. He’ll be one of those players that does nowt for 6/7 years and still have potential in his late 20s until someone works out his age and he’ll drop to League 2.

He looked £50m when we signed him

He barely looks £5m in this team. We're gonna end up "McNeil'ing"/"Zaroury'ing" him

Think it would have to be a fortune if we are even considering dealing with Kompany. He’d need to take Tresor and the set piece coach off our hands as part of the deal.

If we’d an half decent attack minded manager with the right coaching Koleosho has the potential to be a top winger ,play on his best side and have an overlapping fullback behind him similar to Zaroury and Maatsen 2 seasons ago.

I've been as critical of Koleosho as the next cat but I do feel some of the stuff that's being said about the lad should be tempered with the fact that he's twenty (TWENTY) years old and he has the unenviable position and pressure of being the one player in the squad that fans expect to be the one that soldiers most of our attacking threat.

Give him a break. He's not gonna be a world beater but hes far from useless also.

One thing is for sure we will be active in January. That much is now clear.

A couple of additional really big sales could allow for half a dozen incomings. Wouldn’t surprise me if that was the club’s preference rather than going with what we have.

There won’t be many 20 years in any team, at any level, asked to be the main attacking/creative threat. He has minimal full back support like Anthony. The effort is there, at least.

If I was Parker, I would be instructing him to simplify his game. He’s always in 2 minds what to do, and that leaves anyone in the box in 2 minds what to do.

His run to the byline and cross for Amdouni away at Forest last season should be his blueprint for the time being until he develops other attributes.

Low block opposition doesn’t help. His goal at Leeds was evidence what he can do against more attacking teams on the counter.

I remember a thread a after Leeds saying what a star he’s going to be, people saying he’d be gone in Jan and quoting £40m

His work rate is brilliant. How anyone can dig out a 20 year old claret, probably being poorly coached given the drop off in performances this season vs first 10 games of last, who is working so hard for the team, 12 games in to the season, is beyond me.

I despair at this board sometimes.

Will say he’s quite literally the only exciting player in this team that I enjoy watching.

Even if he can also be frustrating at least he generates some emotion, because not many do otherwise.

I dunno, but in 40 years I’ve been watching Burnley I’m struggling to remember many players under the age of 21 who consistently delivered effective performances.

He’s barely played 25 senior football matches in his career and those were punctuated by a serious knee injury. Despite that he’s already now been linked with Wolves and Bayern.

Writing him off, as some have done one this thread, is simply bonkers.

It's all opinions. If you think he's worth 40m and gets you off your seat every game, and works really hard for the team that's your opinion, others think he's not good enough. That's a message board.

Remember when he gave Dalot the runaround against United and got him booked. Then VK inexplicably switched him to the right wing.

We won't get promoted he'll shine a odd time like odobert enough to earn a move for 20m probably lower to a Brentford or palace or somewhere similar. Too many botty burpers on here with pie in the sky valuations.

Genuinely I don’t know whether it’s because I’ve spent more time on this site over the last 18 months, but this thread just seems the perfect representation of the pervading attitudes on this board.

There’s a painful level of entitlement and I can’t help feeling people’s expectations of players, and the team in general, is so so much higher than it would have been in years gone by.

We’ve got a 20 year old here, who literally a matter of weeks before, was viewed as absolutely one to keep and realise a massive fee for down the line…. To a player who fans would literally drive themselves to get rid of. So glad our fans don’t handle our transfers as we’d presumably be actually paying other teams to take players such as Koleosho off our hands.
A player who id actually anticipate we end up receiving 12-15 mill plus for.

Society as we know it has changed. Modern times says that anyone with a bit of talent at a young age is now compared with 20yo of past times, so what was Rooney like at 20, Owen? There have been plenty of great players at 20 and he's only playing in the Champ so at 20 he should be storming it with his talent...(that's the perception but as we know it's nonsense but the modern era/internet age creates this exaggeration). Unfortunately, reality vs. digital is totally distorted and Koleosho isn't all that: he runs fast, can pass it 10 yards, has scored 1 goal against a favourite for promotion so now is a wonderkid. Sad times. We should have more humility and say he ain't that good and has a shedload to improve on. Bring him back down to earth, stop bigging him up and having less expectation. Only then might we see his potential. Too early do we highlight players and they then go on to do nothing. Bring 'em down a peg and then see what they are made of.

Look at the state of our fan base, more than willing to tear into a lad who has just turned 20 and been out for a year with an ACL injury, who’s also playing in the wrong position.
