Match thread Burnley vs Bristol City (a)
Re: Match thread Burnley vs Bristol City (a)
I think we're doing very well in challenging conditions.
Anthony and Brownhill have got the two lowest amount of touches in the game at 22 and 20 respectively. We could do with getting them into the game.
Hannibal with the worst pass completion at 68% though in mitigation he is looking to progress the ball forwards more than most.
I would be tempted to move Brownhill in behind JRod and bring on Laurent where he is currently, not least as Brizzle are doing a good job of winding Hannibal up.
Could do with another as Twine netting from a free kick seems iron clad

Re: Match thread Burnley vs Bristol City (a)
Agreed. They are equally dreadful both going forwards and defensively. We really should put them away comfortably 2nd half.
I still think it's slightly worrying that we can't create more open play chances against this type of fodder. Hannibal in particular has been dreadful technically. His timing and weight of pass is well off
Re: Match thread Burnley vs Bristol City (a)
If the weather wasnt so gusty, we'd have killed these off by now
Re: Match thread Burnley vs Bristol City (a)
Look sharper and quicker. But could just be the wind blowing us about.
Good half. Need a second.

Perfect away performance in awful conditions.
Our back line is extremely solid especially the CB pairing but Pires also adds an extra attacking dimension.
Hannibal proving his quality and we are much more dynamic in the final third.
Jay Rod has led the line brilliantly which has helped the whole team and he was unlucky not to score.
Great finish by Anthony.
Overall very pleasing to see us showing a genuine dynanism in trying to create with Hannibal at the centre of most of our good work.

Must admit my heart sank when i saw JRod was starting.
Judging from this and other comments though it sounds like he's having a good game. I'm happy to have been proved wrong!
Re: Match thread Burnley vs Bristol City (a)
Coventry with a great chance to claw themselves back into the game, Sheffield Utd down to ten men for the entire 2nd half
I was gonna have a go at typing the lads name out from memory but bottled it.
Lets have a go: Azhemodovic

Decent half from us, a huge relief to be ahead. Jay having a cracking game, best I've seen him play for a long time.
Re: Match thread Burnley vs Bristol City (a)
Personally think the weather is suiting us. We play short sharp on the floor passes which isn’t much of an issue, it’s teams that don’t play that/aren’t as good on the ball who struggle. Which is why we’ve won so many of the loose balls back.
I’d like to see us really finish a team off though. If we take the game to them we could easily get a few more goals. Jay has done well. Keep letting Hannibal wind them up, then bring Laurent, Redmond and Sarmiento on for last 20/25 mins to see out the game.

Koleosho often can't anticipate where the ball is going to go so it goes out of play.

Koleosho’s best game of the season.
Re: Match thread Burnley vs Bristol City (a)
Wonderful save.
Easier said then done but I like to think I'd have finished that by feigning the shot and letting the keeper dive past for an empty net.

Re: Match thread Burnley vs Bristol City (a)
Apart from Luton away is this our best performance so far? We look far more balanced with an actual number 9. It’s just like attack versus defence at the moment.

Both wingers looking a lot better today. Got to get that 2nd goal whilst we're so on top to kill the game.

Re: Match thread Burnley vs Bristol City (a)
When we raise it like in that 10 minute spell we suddenly look the best team in the league.
The key is to do it more often.
GOT to get the second though, soon. Vital.
