Thanks for a fair and accurate report CT.
And a big well done to all those travelling Clarets making that long journey in those awful conditions.

Don’t worry about that. Even I’m a long way from that. :D

You're nearer to it than I am, Tony.

But only by seven months.

Good report CT and well done to all that made the journey. As good as I've seen us play either side of half time apart from a few minutes early second half. Agree when you say they offered nothing in the 8 minutes added on; from my perspective they had thrown everything into it up to the board going up and had little left after that. Top performance from our No9. Great footballing brain put to good use.

Thanks, Tony - a real good read. FWIW, I thoroughly enjoy the personal, human perspective of the match day experience - much more interesting than just the details of the 90 minutes on the pitch ( oh go on then - 97)
And as others have said - respect to those who traveled so far on such a foul day. You deserved to see a win.
UTC.

Excellent report as always. Hadn’t though about Esteve’s booking being a bit of a turning point as it pretty much coincided with them making 3 substitutions which I thought at the time gave them added impetus. Hirakawa the half time sub looked to have the beating of Pires down their right and was a bit of a threat but he fluffed his lines at the crucial moment. Even from our end I thought he took a heavy touch and gave the initiative to Trafford. I noticed from the highlights that Pires was also covering behind Trafford so the odds were stacked against the Japanese forward in any case. Other than that I really didn’t think they looked like scoring. From about the 83rd minute onwards I thought we managed the game brilliantly

Yes beddie, over £4,200. I just can’t get my head round that. My entire wardrobe wouldn’t come close to that and that includes the actual wardrobes.

Exceptional following in horrendous weather for a lunchtime kickoff with the game on telly.

Well done to the travellers. Not very appetising in these days of random scheduling for TV in winter.
FWIW I was gobsmacked the ref didn't award a penalty, not that I'm complaining.

We knew it was on TV but we couldn't have envisaged the weather. But a superb turnout really for a match kicking off at that time.
