Two stands need modernising but no way do we need an increase in capacity

Someone else asked the striker questions or rather about January business - basically don't expect much in or out was the general idea.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 8:56 pmNothing about signing a striker in Jan? Or improving the squad at all in Jan
I asked the Tresor question and it wasn't pre selected, they had time at the end for other questions. If you want to hear a waste of time question, one person asked about how his faith impacts on his role at the club

It was good of Peter Beardsley to join the audience!
Re: Fan Forum Application: Successful Application - Wednesday 11th December 2024
That was my interpretation too. Also, Alan didn't sound convinced he would ever play for us, though did say he wasn't going anywhere. Alan said he'd love to see him play as much as the rest of us.Penwortham_Claret wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 8:06 pmOnly half full, lots didn’t turn up. This has been done to death over the years but....Steve-Harpers-perm wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 9:17 pmTwo stands need modernising but no way do we need an increase in capacity
We do need an increase in capacity but a nominal one, probably 23,500-24,000 is sufficient. Anything more would see the ground being too big for us.
The issue with the ground is the number of substandard seats, either below pitch level (JHL), or with a restricted view of the pitch due to the supporting pillars in the Bob Lord and CFS.
Add to this, the cramped concourses in a number of areas and it's not a simple or cheap fix to bring the ground up to a better standard.

Any ‘improvements’ have been piece meal, short term, and the ground reflects that.
I dread to think how many tens of millions we’ve spent titivating the ground and CFS in particular since our first promotion.
We can’t keep kicking this can down the road.

Tresor is refusing to play , it’s as clear as day and will be off in January.

I agree with your points but Turf Moor as a traditional ground is in fantastic condition compared to some of the stadiums up and down the country that have not seen the Premier League money we haveTsarBomba wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 9:49 pmSymptoms of our failure to plan long term for the redevelopment of the ground.

And when the PL millions run out, which they will, the Turf will very quickly look like Oakwell and many others.
We’ve had nigh on 10 years in the PL now, so when are we going to crack on with this? There has to be some sort of legacy beyond paying Mike Tresor £50k a week to do **** all.

The way he answered the question about selling people in Jan, looking around the room saying ‘we haven’t ever sold anyone in Jan’ didn’t look very convincingcolne-claret wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 10:09 pmHe’d be a bloody good politician. He dodged that question about transfer policy.
Re: Fan Forum Application: Successful Application - Wednesday 11th December 2024
It's a bit of a daft answer really. Twice we were a prem team so had no need to sell and once we were absolutely dominating the champ with our best players being on loan anyway. It's a different scenario this time around123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 10:14 pmThe way he answered the question about selling people in Jan, looking around the room saying ‘we haven’t ever sold anyone in Jan’ didn’t look very convincing

Just seen the bit about who we bring in if promoted again. Just seems like he wants to bring in players and move them on for profit. I wouldn’t be confident again that ALK will get the right personnel in again if we do get promoted.

The fan asking the question around facial recognition, and the assumption that you are presumed guilty, whatever that means, couldn’t be more wrong.

To go one step further, we're actually on the same points after 20 games now as we were in 22/23.

Leppings Lane was opened for the 1966 World Cup, the cantilever to the left was under construction when we went in 1961 and the main stand is very old but has had a tier added. Other than that, some seats and a roof at the Penistone Road end of the ground.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 10:08 pmI was slightly suprised at just how bad Sheff Wednesday is now, that place is rotting
It is well run down and worryingly, they haven't learned. When that poor West Brom died there recently, I read that the passages into the stand weren't wide enough to get a stretcher in.

Currently we have 38 points from 20 games with a goal difference of plus 17 - two seasons ago we had 38 points from 20 games with a goal difference of plus 14. The big difference will come now - in 2022/23 we won every one of games 21 to 30.

Because other teams are having better seasons. I think some people are being more than a little dramatic about our position. We have a good points total, that historically is a base to be promoted off.

Ye, we went to another gear at this point and by the end of Jan it was basically nailed on that we were up. There was no chance of us selling anyone at that point.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 10:48 pmCurrently we have 38 points from 20 games with a goal difference of plus 17 - two seasons ago we had 38 points from 20 games with a goal difference of plus 14. This time I think we will probably be 3rd or 4th at the same point with the tricky fixtures we have for the next month or 2. So if we get any big bids, it will be a lot more tempting

If magic Mike never plays for us again then currently
It's Mike Tresor the best assist in the Belgium league, but never good enough for the premier league.
You will go down as a shameful footballer that had misery on his face from day one to play for this proud club. Go off to your new destiny, but you are a failure in my eyes. Good Bye
Prove other wise.......still waiting......
