HEBDEN BRIDGE ROADWORKS

Post by Foreverly Claret » Thu Dec 19, 2024 2:25 pm

Can anyone give me the heads up about the traffic problems at HB ? There have been some shots on our local TV ( Yorkshire ) but I can't tell where exactly the roadworks are .I usually come through Hebden on my way to the Turf and turn up Church Lane to Blackshaw Head but if Hebden is a problem I can go via Keighley / Colne or Littleborough /Todmorden .Travelling over Saturday for the match .Any advice greatly appreciated.

They're at Charlestown where The Pot Belly fuel sale place is.

You're best coming up Heptonstall, Blackshawhead and then by the Kettledrum.

I miss driving down Church Lane after night games at The Turf.

Not for the faint hearted.

Its a bit more than just roadworks...the road is completely closed in both directions isnt it ?

From the Hebden direction, the road is closed just past the turning circle and Church Lane. So you can still turn right up Church Lane.

I would avoid Church Lane it has been blocked by lorries trying the S bends at least twice and it only needs one driver who can’t reverse and you are screwed. Best option suggested earlier if coming through Hebden go around the turning circle and up underneath Heptonstall road is wide enough to cope with the increased traffic. Current estimate for road between Hebden and Tod to open is Xmas Eve.

Thanks all .... very helpful. Sounds as though the Church Lane route might be a bit iffy .Where are they sending the Todmorden to Hebden traffic ? I'll give it plenty of time ..just in case .

Tod to Hebden is via Littleborough than back via the A58 then the B road to Mytholmroyd (I think)
