Don't drink and drive and be careful tomorrow

Post by Awayfromburnley » Tue Dec 31, 2024 8:22 pm

From a good place I want to wish you all a lovely evening and and amazing 2025.

Please be so careful and don't drink and drive and also be very careful the day after (ie tomorrow).

Ad you will know, not only can you lose your licence/job, if you are involved in an incident, event not your fault the consequences for all can be life changing for the worse.

The effects of alcohol the day after are severely underestimated by most people. Think. Get the bus/taxi tomorrow.

This calculator will alarm you. Basically if you're drinking after midnight tonight, having had a few this evening then don't drive until after the game tomorrow (at least)

Take care.

Great message that bares repeating.

Hope everybody has a great night and drinks as much as they like but there's no excuse for driving under the influence.

Its scary really, if i go out on a big all day session, it could be 48 hours before I should drive...

Whilst id not drive the following morning, id certainly have drove on the Monday morning which could be around 28 hours later.

Glad ive looked at that

It's easy enough to buy an online breathalyser just research it's accurate enough don't chance it. Stay safe & sensible everybody.

If you want to drink just leave the car at home and get a cab.

It's so simple

There's no excuse. I know a self employed electrician who got done the morning after when someone shunted into the back of him. Marginally over after 5 pints.
Happy safe New Year.

No, not at all, have a great night, go for it. Just hopefully preventing you spoiling the rest of your life, or someone else's.

Look at the calculator and take care.

You can do both with self control. I'll never drive without using a calibrated breathalyser with regular renewed batteries a failed reading the car stays where it is & if under good to go. For people liking a drink & also enjoying the liberty to drive it's as essential as the de-icer on a cold frosty winters morning.

The police had a road block in Accy just before Christmas were they pulled in umpteen motorists before 11am. My 18 yr old son was one of those who got breathalysed on his way to the opticians even though he told them that he hadn't had a drink the day before.
As the opening post said "Please be careful if you've had a drink"

Just brining this back to the top.

Please do the calculator before you think about driving today.
