Rodriguez
Should never be in a position where he has to start again, he is so slow in everything he does these days.
After so many good memories it's painful to watch him how he is now.
Also what does it say about Hountondji if a veteran who's legs have gone, a number 10 playing out of position or a striker coming back from 3 months out all get the nod before you.
Hopefully January Pace rectifies his poor signings and lets Parker bring his own players in so we stand half a chance

Re: Rodriguez
Parker seems to have a strange loyalty to certain players-Jay and to a lesser degree Pires, who is so casual when defending, and when Humphreys is proving to be an outstanding defender. I think in the majority of games Pires has started he has not finished them, with Humphreys coming on for him. So why start Pires. With Jay its now like playing with 10 men-he offers no pace or physicality up front. Foster showed more aggression in 8 minutes than Jay showed all game. Foster has to start v Rovers, as does Laurent and Humphrey'sbumba wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 5:59 pmShould never be in a position where he has to start again, he is so slow in everything he does these days.

Re: Rodriguez
We've played 4 different strikers this season and none of them touch the ball much. That's a style issue as much as an individual one.

Been a great servant to the club but would not look out of place in a bottom end League 1/top end League 2 side now

Re: Rodriguez
Jay should NOT be starting a game in the Championship. Not the only one....
Re: Rodriguez
Thing is, he’s that bad, he would look out of place in L1 or L2. Absolute waste of a wage.Milltown1882 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 6:12 pmBeen a great servant to the club but would not look out of place in a bottom end League 1/top end League 2 side now

We are stuck with him…
Nobody will take him on 40k per week…or even 20k

Re: Rodriguez
Worked his socks off again tackling and attempting to get attacks started while our mf looked on gormlessly.Laurent should have started as he supports Jay well .A win next week beckons we can't be so shite two games together

Re: Rodriguez
He’s been well and truly past it for ages. Shouldn’t be starting and consistently offers very little.
Re: Rodriguez
Played like he was in his socks. Absolutely abysmal as he’s been for a while now.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 6:54 pmWorked his socks off again tackling and attempting to get attacks started while our mf looked on gormlessly.Laurent should have started as he supports Jay well .A win next week beckons we can't be so shite two games together

Re: Rodriguez
"Working your socks off " is a given or minimum for any professional. He still does this but has limited impact owing to a lack of pace, physicality or threat, which is why I think he resorts to coming so deep in order to disguise his shortcoming in the opponents halfWoodleyclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 6:54 pmWorked his socks off again tackling and attempting to get attacks started while our mf looked on gormlessly.Laurent should have started as he supports Jay well .A win next week beckons we can't be so shite two games together

Worked is socks off. Not sure what you was watching but like every other match I’ve seen he is one paced which is slow and offers the team nothing.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 6:54 pmWorked his socks off again tackling and attempting to get attacks started while our mf looked on gormlessly.Laurent should have started as he supports Jay well .A win next week beckons we can't be so shite two games together

Re: Rodriguez
He had a couple of decent performances back to back only a few games ago but looked off the pace today. He wasn’t the only one, though.
I just hope Foster can have an impact now he’s back.

That’s a wind up, right? If it wasn’t I’ll book an options appointment tomorrow. It’s when you mention “ tackling” I nearly fell off my seat, due to his Gait he couldn’t get near anyone to tackle them. Why he wasn’t taken off at half time is baffling.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 6:54 pmWorked his socks off again tackling and attempting to get attacks started while our mf looked on gormlessly.Laurent should have started as he supports Jay well .A win next week beckons we can't be so shite two games together

Re: Rodriguez
Jay was putting in a shift this doing him down by his own fans is unacceptable
Re: Rodriguez
Weren’t you his teacher? Think you are personally invested too much in the wage stealer. If he was plain old Jay Smith from Carlisle, he would get much more criticism for his performances, he gets a free pass with many because he’s a local ladWoodleyclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 7:29 pmJay was putting in a shift this doing him down by his own fans is unacceptable

Re: Rodriguez
He's doing his best but he clearly doesn't have the legs for it anymore. As said above he was trying to close down etc. but couldn't get near anyone.

Re: Rodriguez
Sorry but it was a ridiculous decision to give him a new two year contract in 2023
His legs had already gone then.

And if he's on near 40k a week then it's even more staggering.Rumpelstiltskin wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 7:44 pmSorry but it was a ridiculous decision to give him a new two year contract in 2023
