He will of course pull back to receive the ball. He's not going to be in the penalty area all game waiting for a long ball. He'll come into midfield to make it more a 5 and then supply whoever is upfront. It's perfect. He's already shown he can run in and supply.Jakubs Tash wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 12:30 pmIs that right? Koleosho turning in a tight area and supplying a striker with a weighted pass? Not happening, I’m afraid. He would need to improve his game immeasurably to have the ability to do this.

That’s because his previously retired usernames were Muchacho/frank/hoosier amongst others…Jakubs Tash wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 12:30 pmIs that right? I don’t remember ever disagreeing with you previously….

Re: Team for tomorrow
Game for trying a few combinations, giving some squad players a go and blooding some kids. Something like
Hladky
Sonne Egan Riley Egan Pires
----------Bauress Laurent
Koleosho Flemming McDermott
--------------Foster.
Egan Riley plays to build an understanding with Sonne, Flemming to build an understanding with Foster, and Laurent cos he's played less minutes than the other senior central midfielders. Foster obviously needs game time. Beyond that there's five senior players and just a couple of kids.

None of that really makes much sense - especially your last sentence.burnleycclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 12:34 pmHe will of course pull back to receive the ball. Where did you get that I was making out he’d be mainly in the penalty box from?
Very strange.

Becoming an almost impossible task but one from this thread has now been removed. So hard now to keep a check on things.daveisaclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 12:51 pmTough task being a mod on here when half of new accounts are just two sad blokes who keep getting banned innit

Aye, would be nice for one or two of the youngsters to get a run out. Can see a couple of the experienced lads like Worrall Egan Barnes etc wanting a run out too though.claretspice wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 12:48 pmGame for trying a few combinations, giving some squad players a go and blooding some kids. I think there’s a chance those two will play at the back and I’m sure Barnes will play.ArmchairDetective wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 12:57 pmAye, would be nice for one or two of the youngsters to get a run out. The only one of that list I don’t like is Cullen, who has played a lot, but I don’t see many options. Can’t play a kid, it is the FA Cup, we are a elite football club not a circus.
I’ve put Foster left because I sense Parker doesn’t fancy him up front with his back to goal and would rather explore a Thierry Henry early years style from the left to see if we get a transformation in our goalscoring.

Re: Team for tomorrow
Jakub knowing Luka sometimes has five on him out wide is one thing… I’d like Luka himself to know there’s five on him sometimes and release the ball into the space that’s created.burnleycclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 12:11 pmWe don't agree on much so no problem here. If you watched us you'd know he sometimes has 5 players on him out wide. One on him, one or two ahead of him and one or two behind him. Through the middle his trickiness is perfect. Would he be a target man number 10? Absolutely not. But a number 10 doesn't always have to be a target man. He'd still be the man you get the ball to who would turn and supply the striker. And we'd of course need a striker/cf who ran on.
