Manchester United V Glasgow Rangers

Post by equinox » Thu Jan 23, 2025 7:23 pm

Fascinating clash of two historic giants of British football.

Rangers can be backed at a huge 7/1, considering United's dreadful recent form this looks to have some value.

It was very early pre-season to be fair.

Not having a go here bbut that's kinda how Cup competitions go. Not representative over a season.

Absolute joke to disallow that. Do they think its a non contact sport?

That was almost as weak a contact as the one Anthony got pinged for.

Once again they will justify the decision with the “contact with consequence” line that doesn’t actually mean a thing. Contact does not mean it is automatically a foul.

Looks like there's been big groups of Rangers fans in the home ends basically taking the ****. Singing songs, acting like they can do what they want.

Fair play to Harry Maguire, there.

Eschewing the normal defensive practices used by lesser centre-halfs in favour of trying to keep clean sheets through the medium of interpretive dance.

So Rangers (a team of unknown kids for the most part) narrowly lose away at United and drew at home to Spurs. Hardly a huge gap.

Sounds a bit like united fans when we play them at home.

He needed to do what most players do these days and make a meal of the push in the back and win a free kick

I know he gets a lot of stick but I rate McGuire …

That hand in the back knocked him off the header

Amazing control by the rangers lad

That's a Glasgow club party trick we learned about back in the day from the other half of the city.

Sadly they usually don't just act like they can do what they want.

To be fair you could hardly handpick two better opponents from the premier league atm.
