Got off lightly down here in Hampshire. A fair bit of rain overnight but far from torrents. Wind got up to low 50s mph, blew a few empty bins about but no great damage. Pretty settled now.
I hope all in northern England, Scotland and Ulster have come through unscathed.

Also happens to be the paper/card bin collection day today.... There is more cardboard on the pavements than there is in the bins.

Similar to Leadbelly for us. Just caught the edge of it, status orange rather than red IMO.
Best wishes to all in the eye of the storm.

Winds expected to peak here in Lancashire within the next couple of hours, and stay high until mid afternoon so stay safe.

Asked my boss if I could have the day off as it's unsafe to travel, no said "p**s off, you work from home"!. :D

Seems to be dying a bit in Burnley now, was loud overnight, couldn't sleep.

My friend up in Aberdeen has been sent home from work as schools closed

Here in the south east, well north Hampshire, got up to a warm dry sunny day. Glorious weather for a nice dog walk. Feel sorry for the folks further north.

Is there bad weather or something. Can’t say it’s too bad.. a nice comfortable 28 degrees with a light breeze and hardly a cloud in the sky…

The wind here in Aberdeen is mental. Never heard the winds so loud.

You should turn your central heating down.

In the Republic of Ireland wind gusts reported of 114mph which is more than enough to cool your porridge :o

Wind speed around Boro are 65 at the moment but that’s tame compared to what I’ve read Ireland are experiencing.

Disaster up here way above Burnley. I'm thinking of setting up a charity fund to help me, two garden chairs blown over.

AC on at 18 and a nice cold Tusker to compliment the day.

Worst of it seems to have passed. A massive tree on next street over from me crashed into a house and others have hit cars but people have escaped serious injury so far. It was fun watching airlines cancel flights out of Bristol to Ireland last night as I was waiting to come home after Wednesday's match. Also eerie when everyone's phone alerts started going off on the flight at the same time - clearly not many care about flight safe mode anymore

Only casualty here seems to be the arm of one of the garden chairs becoming detached and lost in the canal

Well that was a blast last night .
We lost power , heating , water , Internet and the phones , kind of grand slam .
We are in Galway city for a night out and staying over and it looks a lot worse than in land for sure .
No damage to the house we will see where we are in the morning .
The pair of us are safe and sound which all that matters .

One death reported in Ireland and hopefully that will be all. It must have been awful being in the path of the extreme wind, I know it was bad enough in Padiham this morning at probably less than half the speed others were faced with.

Stay safe everyone and best wishes for the restoration of services to those affected.

Plenty of pricks joke on here but it was deadly serious in some parts of the Isles. Hope there's not been too much damage and inconvenience for our many posters.

Few big trees came down in Red Lane area of Colne. One landed on a car that was luckily empty.

It was a real ripper!
Lost a couple of fence panels and spent the day trying to save the garden gate and adjacent panel. Both 2 metres high. The wind separated the bolted gate from the panel and I had to put a wheelie bin full of heavy garden waste, to keep the wind from blowing both down. At one point my partner had to hold the fence, as I resurrected the toppled bin., so I could force the gate/panel back into position.

Also, early afternoon, I was pushing the fence an old was slightly off balance and got blown over! It was fierce! Some repairs needed!
