With the exception of Trafford, Esteve and Egan Riley, no one in the current or recent first 11 can have any gripes if they got rested. I am looking forward to Shelvey and Edwards starting as they would appear to be a step up to what we have.
Am surprised Shelvey hasn't played at all yet. Even more so as the game went on at Portsmouth.
Hopefully he's not just another bench warmer.

Saturday is the perfect opportunity for many to get minutes, this will probably be at the back of Parkers mind.

Thanks Vegas..I didn't know that he played with Lyle previously, hopefully he can bring out the best in him, looking forward to seeing him play.
Up the Clarets.

He seems very laid back, but hopefully he's different with a ball at his feet!

If we can get the Shelvey from a few years ago (still only 32) and adding Edwards into the mix it straight away improves our attacking threat considerably. 1 more piece to go.

I think of Shelvey as 'passed it' at 32, yet Salah is 32 and he still looks quite good...

You would think that Edwards would be able to help Pires with the language barrier too.

Welcome to Burnley, Marcus.
I don’t know much about him, other than him being very highly rated as a youngster. Hopefully he can unlock a few Championship defences for us.

Anthony has been one of our better performers. I must be one of the blind ones you refer to…
There’s no way on this earth a head coach with the professional credentials of Scott Parker plays someone unless he is fit, and he fits the framework. I can’t believe you’d think otherwise?
I don't think Anthony lacks fitness.
He's certainly lacking something though.

The other way around by the sounds of it!

That’s a worry as he’s our main (often only) creative outlet.

Anthony is probably our most consistent and creative attacking player but he's never brilliant. At the start of the season teams were doubling up on Koleosho and two years ago teams had to double up on Zaroury and this creates space else where
The fact that Anthony is seen as our main attacking threat and teams dont feel the need to double up on him illustrates exactly whats lacking in our team.
Lots of good attacking players but no brilliant ones which for a teaming looking to win the league is a big gap. Hopefully Edwards offers that X factor and causes teams to worry about him giving more time and space for players like Foster, Anthony and Flemming to cause the opposition problems

Teams weren't doubling up on Koleosho. It just looked like they were because he kept running into players!

Two footed, accurate passing & crossing, very strong for his size, pace & an eye for goal.
Brilliant signing if he's up for it.....fingers crossed. UTC

Erm.......he can't cross the ball.....not great when you're a winger!
He has some good traits, but often his end product is awful.
