No, what could have ruined him was suicidal tactics, being badly exposed and conceding 3/4 goals every game and not having the skillset to play as an aggressive sweeper keeper.

As for the Brighton game, I thought he played well and gave him kudos, but I still don't believe he should have played PL football last season.

Our setup this year is much more suited to maximising his attributes as a goalkeeper.

Everybody else’s fault but your own for trying to destroy a young kid new to the club, you completely refused to give him any kind of praise and relentlessly bashed him, now here you are this season with your praise and blaming VK for your actions. Acting all Cool Claret like people forgot your posts from last season.

To be fair he wasn’t the only one,bumba,stayingdown4ever and a few others were just as bad.The muric chants whenever we conceded were pathetic as well.

You really have a vendetta for me, don't you?

Not true whatsoever, I praised him for the games that he was good in, I just thought that he wasn't up to it and his ability as a goalkeeper wasn't suited to our style of play.

When on the Turf/few away games as always I supported all the team - just thought what we were doing was madness (and it was!).

In summer, I posted on here that it's a fresh slate for everyone and after the sale of Muric we should just move on rather than cry over spilt milk... but it seems like some just cannot.

Just to add, if anyone is responsible for knocking Trafford’s confidence it is the supporters who relentlessly slagged him off, particularly those who jeered and booed him at the ground. And I sit right behind the goal in the JMU and it’s clear from his body language that he hasn’t forgot, and doesn’t hold our support in high regard. He turned around and eye-rolled at those chanting ‘we scored a goal’ on Tuesday night.
Agree with this, I also do not think Trafford has forgotten the abuse he got and still gets.

After the Sunderland game where he saved 2 penalties, CFS singing his name, no reaction. Went to do the Sky interview infront of JHL, fans still singing his name throughout - no acknowledgement. I do not blame him, even earlier in that game there were Burnley fans in CFS abusing him for slow play.

Let's get it right, we had 2 very talented goalkeepers last year. Muric had earnt the shirt and wasn't given the opportunity to either keep it or lose it.
It's that which seemed to rile Burnley fans in combination with replacing basically half of the squad that took us up.

Trafford then came in and he was poor, there is not denying that, pretty much every neutral pundit said it. Kompany should have replaced him much earlier or rotated them like Brighton were doing with Verbuggen.

In the end he left in him for far too long and the relationship between the fans and Trafford deteriorated to a position which appears to be irreparable by the looks of Traffords body language all season.

It wasn't the fault of either keeper, both have some exceptional talents of their own but weren't suited to the position we were in.
What we should have done which is what I wanted at the time, was gone and signed Tom Heaton. He had much needed experience, brilliant in the dressing room and would have put Muric under pressure for the shirt without riling the fans, without costing 20 million or whatever it was at the time.
