Goal Music
I don’t know who asked for it, or what the song is, but it is back.

You'd think he'd get the picture from the reaction to the drum and the absolute damp squid that free from desire is after games. He's an absolute muppet, just leave the fans to it
Re: Goal Music
A damp squib will surely be happier than a dry one.

No issue for me, enjoyed it i think

Least you can hear it, God knows where the speakers are positioned in the Fishwick but we can't hear anything.
They need some under the roof pointing in to the stand so we can hear things

Not a fan of goal music I have to say. Tinpot.
Couldn’t tell you what the tune was though as the tannoy is barely audible, and I suppose we have to score to hear it, so can’t complain too much.

I didn’t even notice the goal music, but did notice we’d dropped the “If these streets could talk…” VT.

It's actually been in place for 10 games. But we haven't scored so we haven't heard it.

Re: Goal Music
Same fans moaning about goal music are those that have been complaining that we need entertainment for there to be atmosphere, well tonight after the 2nd goal went in at 2-0 the cricket field went silent. Just like they did under kompany when games seemed to easy

It’s actually the best match day experience change they’ve made. That and maybe Poretti.
If they’ve taken that away it’s a big step backwards.

Re: Goal Music
The light show I enjoyed along with the goals video. I did wonder if playing a Kanye West track for the second half light show was wise though, after the week that he's had.
Samba de janeiro was fine for me, atmosphere was flat as a fart tonight

Its almost become a bit too easy. We had it a few times under Kompany. Hard to get excited when its game over after 30 minutes. Maybe we need to start conceding a few goals!

Re: Goal Music
Can’t stand goal music, but last night was another poorly attended game and subdued atmosphere. Ball and his crew might be reaching for all the wrong solutions, but it’s not hard to see why they are trying things.
Last year we objected to the drum and pointed to the shocking results as being the reason why the fans were so quiet. This year we’re 20 unbeaten and bang in a tight promotion race and you’ve got loads of empty seats.

Re: Goal Music
Yep. The players deserved more from the fans last night. Seems a while since we had a weekend game at home. I really hope we bring some audible support and atmosphere next Friday.agreenwood wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2025 6:30 amCan’t stand goal music, but last night was another poorly attended game and subdued atmosphere. This season we also have every midweek game available on SKY which won't be helping, especially during the colder months.agreenwood wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2025 6:30 amCan’t stand goal music, but last night was another poorly attended game and subdued atmosphere. Re: Goal Music
The sheer number of night matches is going to be a part of this, especially when they are all televised. The impact might not be noticed as keenly by those who live within the town, but for those traveling from further afield the rush from work to be able park within a mile of the ground, find some expensive junk food somewhere, get the kids home late and deal with their resulting tiredness for the next couple of days is pretty wearing when it's almost every week. It's no wonder a lot are fed up and in many cases not bothering, particularly given the awful weather and level of entertainment that has been on offer.agreenwood wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2025 6:30 amCan’t stand goal music, but last night was another poorly attended game and subdued atmosphere. Of course, little of that is the club's fault, just the reality of the TV dominated industry that football has become. The football that many of us like to remember (affordable, few beers on a Saturday afternoon either side of the match, watching in hope more than expectation) just isn't the modern day experience.

The only negative of tonight.
I completely understand that the atmosphere needs improving but this is definitely not the road to go down.

Re: Goal Music
I genuinely had no idea we played music when we scored last night
Though these endless mideeek midwinter games are a turgid grinding experience , both to attend ( or not !)
and witness .
I believe the Sky experiment of televising live 20+ games for EFL clubs has been successful too . I guess you’re reaching deep into each clubs fan base , casual, occasional , unable to get to matches etc and a lot cheaper than actually going on. Is there anything left that Sky can do to kill the match day experience ? Though “ he who pays the piper”…

Re: Goal Music
My pal was saying the same thing when we were walking off the Turf, that they might regret giving sky to rights to show all these matches.
I'd like to know how other clubs have been affected though. It'd be interesting to see whether this is a league problem or a Burnley problem.

Didn't hear any goal music either.
Overall, I thought the atmosphere was pretty decent. I don't really know what people expect beyond what there was last night.

Re: Goal Music
Our group of 4 didn’t go last night
I’m not feeling great and didn’t fancy sitting in the cold/damp coughing & spluttering all night
I usually take my dad, so he didn’t go and so my 10yr nephew wasn’t that bothered about going either.
That just left my brother and he wasn’t going to go by himself
So my decision had a knock on effect. If it wasn’t on TV I probably would have made a different decision

Re: Goal Music
Goal music was a fad a few years ago and we fought long and hard to get rid of it on the Turf - now with no discussion they bring it back. Also, the final whistle blows and instantly we have 'Freed from Desire' blasting out, and I mean instantly, removing the win celebration from supporters. That, along with Mr We Are Moments Away From Kick Off, they are turning it into a circus.
Is our Director of Fan Experience behind this?

Re: Goal Music
I love this idea that there’s a great organically-generated atmosphere at the Turf which is being ruined by the odd 10-second or so snatch of music. Most of the noise from the stands last night was the subdued hubbub of conversation (probably about how feckin’ freezing it was) as we laid a thoroughly routine and professional 2-0 on a team that couldn’t get near us.
I didn’t even know we’d played goal music until someone pointed it out at halftime and wasn’t bothered by “Freed From Desire” because I only heard it for the time it took me to get from my seat to the exit.
Another example of people wanting to beat a dog always being able to find a stick.
