Burnley v Hull Matchday thread
Re: Burnley v Hull Matchday thread
Plymouth scoring at will against Millwall.
Re: Burnley v Hull Matchday thread
I was just thinking that I was glad we had played Plymouth twice.

Good save Traffs.
Re: Burnley v Hull Matchday thread
Just need foster to bag now he's no9 , that would be the cherry on the cake
Re: Burnley v Hull Matchday thread
Not great marking in the box for us today.
Still, tough to argue with the results.

Good game
Nice defensive record tonight
Got business done within 20 mins and saw it out. That's how it should be done!

Re: Burnley v Hull Matchday thread
If some of our rivals wouldn't mind dropping some points that would be swell. Did our job, absolutely class in the 1st half. Credit to Hull I thought they had a real go in the 2nd. Strong finish from us though.
Bravo on 10 clean sheets in a row and a new record lads!

Re: Burnley v Hull Matchday thread
Comfortable win, sensing we are saving energy and new men for the final push. Defensive record gets the plaudits tonight. Edwards immediate injection of danger and creation. Some near inch perfect crosses or through balls. Esteve simply ridiculous.
Still in our hands with Easter Monday to come.

Re: Burnley v Hull Matchday thread
Superb performance that. It feels like we are clicking.
Re: Burnley v Hull Matchday thread
Edwards came on a bit earlier tonight - although I think he'll be an impact sub for most/all remaining games.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 9:44 pmComfortable win, sensing we are saving energy and new men for the final push. Re: Burnley v Hull Matchday thread
Yeah, that's exactly it. Better players will be more likely to score
Same with the darts analogy
On average, an average player will score x number of points from a certain distance. If you're better at darts, you'll score more, usually
xG is just a representation of how good the chances created were

Re: Burnley v Hull Matchday thread
Bought for the Premier League I feel. Need difference makers at that level.
If we don’t go up, not a big financial outlay.
In other news, plenty of goalkeeping howlers benefitting Sheffield tonight, but it can’t last that luck, they have Leeds in their next home game and regardless, I fancy us to beat them here.
Re: Burnley v Hull Matchday thread
Chill your beans - it was more out of frustration in the last 10 minutes when we gave it away a couple of times. Cheers.

Re: Burnley v Hull Matchday thread
Agree with that in the sense that sloppy was not a word I would use.
But that pass from Edwards through to Foster, slightly over hit, was an example of an incisive through ball that our starting eleven aren’t capable of (hence all our 0-0s)
Re: Burnley v Hull Matchday thread
Yeah reckon so. Looks to have a very good left peg when he clipped it into the box a few times.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 9:49 pmBought for the Premier League I feel. Need difference makers at that level.

Re: Burnley v Hull Matchday thread
Maybe you should've chilled ya beans. Our passing wasn't really worth commenting on after an almost perfect game up to that point, Who cares if it were sloppy. We were never in any danger, even at the end. Senseless comment in the grand scheme of things!
