Cardiff won 69% of the headers - you can expect similar this weekend i think against Luton. Need to be better
I'm not knocking us tonight as such because 3 points is 3 points and nobody bothers about how you get them IF you get promoted in the end, but you're right and on Saturday our biggest issue against PNE was our inability to win a single header (except defensively) and to also not pick up a single "second ball". That's got to improve tbf.

I'd be interested in taking a punt on their lad up front, Yousef Salech.

That physicality and ability to convert half chances is precisely what we need.

Only redeeeming positive is we got the three points. This Burnley side not only makes hard work of it, but can make poor sides look very good. Too many players off it tonight-Pires,Flemming, Edwards, Roberts, Anthony, even the pairing of Esteve & CJ

Won 2-1 away midweek after Saturday's horror show. We're not going to go to Cardiff and outplay them so not sure what people expect. We should have been comfortable had it not been for a silly mistake for their goal. Did what most teams do last 20 minutes of a narrow lead and hang on!

Should have been out of sight at 60 minutes. Will we get a penalty again this season, it’s getting beyond a joke now? Cardiff are a funny team, got several talented individuals and play some nice football at times, not sure why they are so low in the table based on that, looked better than quite a few others we’ve played.

3 points is job done tonight! Yes negative subs, some poor performances and must improve for Saturday but Cardiff a difficult place to go, with them fighting relegation, but 2 points off 2nd and 5 from top spot I'll take any 3 points, however we get them

Yes the Blades have been ragging it every game it seems, far worse against QPR last Saturday than we were tonight.

And it wasn’t lucky. It was lucky their lad missed a great chance at the end. But it wasn’t lucky the ref missed two stonewall penalties, Edwards now carved down twice, neither given, at least unlike at PNE it didn’t cost us 2 points. The lad is getting either a goal or a should-be penalty every game, bodes really well.

Wage and transfer budget compared to cardiff says we should be better than we were. I know it doesn’t always work like that but sadly it’s the way of football these days

A very 'Sheff Utd' performance tonight. The opposition hitting the woodwork and missing clear chance(s) yet us coming away with the 3 points.

I was referring to the comment I replied on about being Burnley and not Real Madrid. The record you speak of is incredible but we’ve had parachute payments for all of those games and dwarfed wage budgets of the teams we’ve played against. Just like our record would be in the last 3 seasons in the premier league against teams who have more money than us.

Cardiff have only had two defeats in their last 12, and unbeaten at home in their last 6.

The ref gave them everything and if the penalty was given it would have been a different game.

We did well to dig in as their tails were up and nothing to lose in the last half hour.

Brilliant rearguard performance against a team with nothing to lose.

Dyche used to say these are the most difficult games to see out.

Admittedly we made hard work of it and Edwards put unnecessary pressure on us cruising at 2-0 with a sloppy pass.

Overall 3 points in the bag, onward and upward.

Hannibal did not look happy being first off again. Think he might be having a bit of a sulk after not getting in the squad on Saturday.
OK 3 points on a poor performance. Fantastic. That's what WINNERS need a couple of times a season when it's tight at the top.
Looked like nobody had their own boots on.
CJ and Steeve couldn't get off the ground for headers, and we broke a golden rule, by passing the ball from out wide, across to the centre of our own penalty area.

It’s sometimes quite painful reading this board. We aren’t City or Liverpool, we are Burnley, a very small town club who have mostly punched above their weight for over 130 years. We won tonight against a team who are actually not that bad. We were playing away. We were playing against the ‘twelfth man’ in black. But still we were victorious. We’ve not lost in 22 games (or is it 23 now, I’ve lost count). We have more clean sheets than is real. And we are now only two behind a team we have still to play at home (and we play better against the better sides).
Every one keeps banging on about how good Leeds and Sheff Utd are, Sheff lost 3-0 at home to relegation threatened Hull. They lost at home to us and Leeds. Leeds took only 1 point from us over 2 games. We’ve lost two games all season, one away to Sunderland when we actually had no team (and only 1-0) and one away to Millwall when we did have a truly off night. No team has scored more than one goal against us.
How is that not mightily impressive, and we have even started scoring more goals? We are by Championship standards a very, very good team and I just wish that more people on here could actually look at the facts instead of moaning about not utterly dominating every game we play.

Another game where we would have won by a clear margin if we had a decent centre forward. But at least we are creating more opportunities

Our squad is valued at approximately 5 times the value of Cardiffs and our wage bill is considerably more than there’s.

We weren’t even allowed to go outside the block we were in. Saw two lads kicked out for supposedly kicking seats. I doubt they were. All a bit weird in the dead stadium.

He was poor tonight but he is not bobbins.
He’s bobbins;

Out of position frequently (yes I know he’s asked to play inverted)

Can’t defend the diagonal, gets caught underneath it too often.

Weak in a tackle

Has an awful mustache

Passing is average and limited to short

Chirps way out of his weight class

He’s bobbins

Another game where we would have won by a clear margin if we had a decent centre forward. But at least we are creating more opportunities
I really liked their lad who scored.

I miss Weghorst.
