Barnes - what more can you say?
Redmond - good to see him get some game time, looked positive
Sonne - possibly the best I've seen him play so far, not necessarily a big compliment

Re: Burnley v Luton - Player Ratings
Trafford 7 - solid when briefly needed
Roberts 8 - excellent going forward which he hasn’t been permitted to do much, hopefully Parker is maturing as a manager
Egan-Riley 8 - passing range gives him an edge
Esteve 7 - good but without the passing of CJ, really hope it isn’t a bit career limitation for him
Pires 7 - a mix of good and bad, some passes astray but some good link ups further forward
Cullen 9 - imperious, but possibly because of their 5-3-1
Laurent 7 - at times not on the quicker wavelength but hustled and helped cover Cullen
Brownhill 8 - excellent in his best position, not as cute as needed when no space in between the lines (their stupid tactics which left space in behind)
Edwards 8 - started slow but revelled in the extra 10 man space and his trips to the byline reaped rewards. One lovely nutmeg pass.
Anthony 7 - tidy and lively, not as exciting as Marcus but likes the space when it occurs
Foster 9 MOM - troublesome, brilliant goal, so well needed, hustled, won the ball when not expected to, loved the space in behind.
Sarmiento 7 - some good grit and tricky feet in tight positions, his weakness is he likes to do all his work in front not behind
Benson 6 - tidy and at that point in the game, didn’t need more
We have scored 10 in 3, after scoring 9 in our first 2. Cannot be far off having reinvigorated ourselves. I feel Tuesday is vital because WBA are good and another win would really send a message. We looked to have turned the corner with our forward line post-window. I hope Foster keeps his position for Tuesday, I fear not, but he stretches more. Flemming is a Brownhill deputy (a good one). I feel we still have the hand brake on a little, several forward passes not taken, but there are signs of progress and I like it that wingers are now getting to the byline more (lose it there, they can be out of position, but on a risk reward I like it).

Re: Burnley v Luton - Player Ratings
Trafford 7 (Little to do, but did it extremely well tbf)
Roberts 7
CJER 8
Esteve 8 (Not sure the ref got his booking right?)
Pires 8
Cullen 8
Laurent 7
Brownhill 7
Anthony 8
Edwards 9 (Because he's the guy who's taken the team up a level!)
Foster 7
Subs: All 7 because they played their part.
A strange game to score because yes, we were excellent, but how tough a nut would Luton have been with 11 v 11 we'll never know. 10 men can at times prove very difficult to beat, but tbf the result was never in doubt once the ref correctly carded their daft CB for two stupid challenges. Contrast that with Cullen who very professionally nursed his yellow card for over 75 minutes whilst still taking a central role in proceedings. What we're seeing I feel is that we've had a bunch of really, really good players for the entire season and that bunch have rightly been challenging near the top of the league from the off, but as we all saw numerous times they lacked that extra spark to unlock too many organised, packed, tight defences often enough, so have always been slightly off a top 2 spot. Suddenly Edwards arrives and it's a whole different game. He's not just really, really good, he's better than that and if we'd had him from September I'm convinced we'd be 7 or 8 points clear at the top. We're definitely clicking now, but will it all be too late?? We'll see.

He played more like Paul Scholes yesterday.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sat Mar 08, 2025 9:12 pmJust light-hearted - both goal scoring midfielders who've played all across midfield.
Tenacious tackling, spraying balls all over the park and popping up with his usual goal. Very unlucky not to get a second as well.
Honestly one of the best games he’s had for us.

Re: Burnley v Luton - Player Ratings
A good all round team performance with Edwards providing the spark. Perhaps my only area of concern was the fact that Anthony and Pires are not on the same wavelength and exchanged a few words on a couple of occasions.

Re: Burnley v Luton - Player Ratings
Trafford 7. Deckchair and cup of tea day
Roberts 8. Proper wind up merchant (He has the best tutor in Bashley).
CJ. 8. Some of his passing is outstanding.
Esteve 8. What a diamond we have here.
Pires 7. Worked well with Anthony
Edwards 5+4. For me, the catalyst in our upturn in the goals scored department.
Cullen 8. The glue that holds it all together.
Laurent 8. One of his better games and splendid work for Ashley's goal.
Brownhill 8. Busy as ever and a great eye for goal.
Anthony 8. Worked hard with Pires.
Foster 8. Probably his best game this season, let's hope it gives his confidence a huge boost.
Sarmiento 7. Put in a decent shift when he came on
Benson 7. Same as Sarmiento but his first piece of play acting was embarrassing.
And a special mention for the master of sh!thousing

Re: Burnley v Luton - Player Ratings
From tv
Trafford 7 quiet day for him but made the key save when needed
Roberts 8 superb link up play with Edwards and Brownhill
CJ 8 he did everything right
Esteve 7 not a lot to do after sending off
Pires 7 good link up play with Anthony
Cullen 8 everywhere in midfield
Brownhill 8 captain courageous, he needs to keep this level up
Laurent 7 I was going to give him a 6 but his run for Ashley’s goal makes it a seven
Edwards 9mom, he reminds me of a young Willie Morgan in the way he teases the defender, always with his head up and he always gets a good final ball or pass to a team mate. It’s no coincidence our attacking performances have improved since he came
Foster 8 almost my mom. He brings power to our attack and pressurises defenders. He needs a run with more goals
Anthony 7 if he could improve his final ball he would be a much better player, though you can’t fault his work rate any longer
Sarmiento 6
Benny 6
A good, positive, free flowing display, albeit against 10 men for most of the game. We have looked so much better going forward in the last few weeks, which is going to help the team’s confidence (and fans) as we gear up up for the run in. Well done Parker and his team for the continued improved displays we are seeing.

Bring me sunshine bring me 3pts
Trafford 8 one good save
Roberts 8 happy
CJER 7 some wonderful passes, worth it for the odd one that went out.
Esteve 7 solid
Pires 7 another booking
Cullen 8 they tried to get at him early on
Laurent 7 good game
Brownhill 8 another goal
Edwards 8 class
Anthony 7 troubled them
Foster 7 Scored
Benson 6
Sarmiento 6
Sonne 6 Tried Roberts at left back
Barnes 8 What a finish
Luton's problem, concentrate on the football and stop moaning especially from the bench.
