Cullen suspension anxiety

Post by Stalbansclaret » Sun Mar 09, 2025 11:16 am

I’m suffering from this …. He seems to be getting booked pretty much every game lately (ridiculous booking at Cardiff) and given his importance to the way we play it feels like his suspension might be very damaging.
Shelley’s injury just makes my condition worse !
How many cards is he away from suspension, and for how long, please ?

According to footstats yesterday was his first yellow card since the Blackburn game in Jan.

He has 8 yellow cards this season.

There is no anxiety whatsoever - he would need to receive a further seven yellow cards in the next two games to get a suspension.

Or twelve yellow cards in the remaining ten games.

And he wasn't carded at Cardiff, as has been posted above, yesterday was his first since Blackburn.

OMG why did you have to say that? That's sent my anxiety through the roof! What if he gets another seven yellows in the next two games, or even worse four reds in the same amount of games

Thought it’s was 10 bookings up to the 37th game which is Tuesday. So technically he could get two further bookings on Tuesday to hit that target.

Which would result in a 1 match ban plus a further 2 match ban for 10 bookings.

Then 15 bookings up to the end of the season which if achieved would result in a 3 match ban (which would rule him out of the playoffs) if they were required.

Probably wrong though, hadn’t thought about until I saw the thread.

So many inaccuracies in one post tells me you're on the wind-up!

Yeah I have a feeling CT is wrong (although that in itself feels wrong)

He has 8 bookings
Rulebook says 10 bookings before game 38 is a 2 match ban
Doesn't say anything about wiping yellow cards if below 5 at first cut off point (he was on 4 at game 19)

I think 2 in next 2, or 7 for rest of season is a suspension

Another masterful display yesterday. Occasionally just try watching him on and off the ball, hard I know as you want to keep up with the play but he really is a wonderful player and vital to our team.

I wasn’t on the wind-up. Was sure he got booked at Cardiff when he tackled someone …apologies must be going senile. Anyway at least this thread has cured me.

If he got two yellows in the game on Tuesday, he'd receive a one match ban for getting the red but the yellows aren't added to the tally so he'd still be on eight.

The rulebook says 10 bookings before game 32, not 38, it's 15 bookings before game 38.

It's

5 yellows in first 19 games - one match ban
10 yellows in first 32 games - two match ban
15 yellows in first 38 games - three match ban
20 yellows at any time - in front of the FA

You are right, so ignore my previous posts.

I've read what I'd posted in two different places this morning but I should have gone to the FA website in the first place.

Here are the rules

5 yellows in first 19 games - 1 match ban
10 yellows in first 37 games - 2 match ban
15 yellows by end of the season - 3 match ban
20 yellows by end of the season - in front of the FA

So he'd need to pick up seven yellows in the final ten games to get a suspension for yellow cards.

Should have got one yesterday for waving an imaginary card at the ref before the red card was shown.
