That’s how it should be in my view, you then have the opportunity to think about the consequences before you run on.
Pitch Invader
Re: Pitch Invader
So, should all the kids (and plenty of adults too) who run on the pitch at the end of the season not receive the same?
Only difference here is that they’ve not interrupted the game, by waiting for the final whistle.
If the crime is entering the field of play, it seems harsh that he’s received a life ban whilst others receive no punishment at all.
I’m not against a ban, but a lifetime ban does seem a bit extreme to me.

Re: Pitch Invader
We know that it is a different scenario for the last game of the season. If the club made it extremely clear for the last game that it will not be tolerated as has been the case in the past and very clearly communicated the consequences then that could be different.DCWat wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2024 12:25 pmSo, should all the kids (and plenty of adults too) who run on the pitch at the end of the season not receive the same?

I do agree that a lifetime ban is on the harsh side. I’d say that if it is his first offence or first banning order then 5 year ban would be more appropriate. If he has previous as is being rumoured then lifetime ban is fine.

Why should the club risk picking up any fines so that this numpty can come and watch us again?

Agreed - if it’s not a first offence - then lifetime is perhaps more understandable.Big Vinny K wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2024 12:53 pmWe know that it is a different scenario for the last game of the season. I was being slightly tongue in cheek about banning end of season pitch invaders, but I do wonder if the club would have a leg to stand on, if such a decision was challenged, when no action is taken when hundreds do the same thing.

Those were the days, when you got dogs on the pitch.
Tackling players and scoring goals.

Re: Pitch Invader
Totally behind the club on this, you can't have fans running on the pitch every time they feel like it. Send out the message now, that lifetime bans will be incurred.

It doesn’t matter whether it is or it isn’t. If the Club make it absolutely crystal clear what the consequences can/ could be if you enter the playing area and perimeter then there’s little argument. Perhaps if they brought in the Police and dragged several off at the end of season game and banned them it might make others think. Unfortunately they spoil it for others.
Re: Pitch Invader
The club will be fine, it's no defence if you got done for speeding to say others were speeding but weren't prosecuted, same thing with the invader, he got caught, suffer the consequencesDCWat wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2024 1:00 pmAgreed - if it’s not a first offence - then lifetime is perhaps more understandable.

Some cracking excuses being made for him, I see.
I'll be surprised if he's even bothered he's got a life ban.

No because you think the correct outcome is for the offenders to find there own family dead on the carpet. Your blinded anger makes you see justice in an eye for an eye.pureclaret wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 2:26 pmWhy ? because I find the song is so offensive? and it hurts me to hear it?
Why not just don't sing it!!!!
I've seen some stuff posted on here but wishing that. Well.
And I don't sing it you clown

Not really. Pureclaret would have had him kissing his family goodbye at the funeral parlour so he got off pretty lightly

If he was already banned when he went on last week, I don't think a lifetime ban is quite the deterrent it sounds.

Not sure kids running on the pitch at full time on the final home game of the season compares to this idiot running over to the Boro fans to goad them, giving stewards the run around and then resisting when they were trying to escort him away when he’d finally been caught.DCWat wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2024 12:25 pmSo, should all the kids (and plenty of adults too) who run on the pitch at the end of the season not receive the same?

If only it was only kids and no goading was taking place. I'm going down the police station today to hand myself in and accept the punishment of being a pitch invader.
As long as they don't ask me to run to prove it was me, I should get away with it and them believe me.

Re: Pitch Invader
Pitch invasions are definitely on the wane. I don't mean the odd idiot like this lad, but the more general kind. Noticeable that there wasn't one at Plymouth when they beat Liverpool, unthinkable just 10 years ago, the whole crowd would have been on.
The last really good one was probably when Sheff Wednesday turned round that 0-4 play off game against Peterboro. Surely even the biggest curmudgeon couldn't object to that one.

The last thing we want is a player getting involved, and I got the impression that Parker made that point to Hannibal.

Not being allowed on the pitch is for player protection.

Is it a ban though? If he wanted to get into the next home game what is there to really stop him, I’m thinking if a mate isn’t going to the game and he uses his ticket/ card etc. I just can’t see these things being fully policed.
