Couldn't believe so many missed tonight. Be usual excuses, kids have school, dog has dentist in the morning, too late to catch bus, motorway was closed.

Can't be arsed bingo
Or some of us actually go out to work for a living rather than doss about at home. Also, not everyone works 9-to-5 or whatever. Some of us even travel fair distances, since the mill at the bottom of the street closed.

Its not just a Burnley thing, its football fans attitudes have changed now that you can watch pretty much any game from the comfort of your own settee.
Some will look at the 3deg weather, getting home between 10-12 when they're up for work tomorrow and think ''you know what, I'll watch it on a stream with a coffee'' and to be honest I don't blame them.

Makes you wonder why all those reasons people can't attend midweek games when in the Championship aren't a factor when in the Prem.

The fact people can buy season tickets knowing they aren't going to attend quite a few games maybe season tickets are too cheap. Still the match threads wouldn't be what they are without the regular non attenders.
We had 4 home league games last season that weren't played on a Saturday or a Sunday. Last night was our 11th this season. Ridiculous comparison. I'm sure making season tickets more expensive will sort it, though.

Talking of ridiculous comparisons we have more midweek games in the Championship than a Prem season every single season.

2 year ago we had 11 non Saturday / Sunday games and that is without this new stupid TV deal.

It'll be a full house in the premiership tho

The lad who comes on with me and my brother couldn't make it last night and we couldn't find anyone else who wanted to go on with us (and it hasn't been the first time this season).

It is funny because during the VK Championship season, we had people asking us every week if there was a spare and now those same people have been much 'busier' this season.

That's the point I'm trying to make, under Kompany in champ people made the effort, it seems easy these days for excuses not to go. attitudes have changed. Not sure it's just down to the football we play, but I could be wrong.

I've had the same issue all season, not one person has asked me for player comps this season that I often get through family.

I'm not convinced its all down to the style of football at all, I think folk are losing interest in football.

Its a touch boring. Yesterday numerous times we had free kicks and throw ins inside the WBA half and it just ends up back with Trafford 10 seconds later. Atmosphere was fine Saturday. Lack of 3pm kick offs is making me not wanting to bother anymore

Think we've just developed into a soft entitled lot.

Make my words, they'll be turning up for Liverpool at home on a Easter Sunday at 8pm next season

One of the things I hate is when I hear about the number and range of freebies floating around while the rest of us have to pay through the nose.
All "comps" should be scrapped today. If people want to go on then buy a bloody ticket.

Same feeling I get when you hear about certain groups of people getting cheap membership for a well known local gym because of where they work.

Don't get me started on those "blue light" discount schemes in various stores, if they still exist!!

Rant over.

Jealousy you mean?

The gym membership discount is part of the benefit package for people that work there. Go get a job there if you are that bothered.

The last sentence is sort of my worry as well. It's hard to ever judge but it definitely feels like people are starting to have had enough. There's so much football these days that nothing feels like a novelty. Even the big champions league games feel a bit like run of the mill games now there's so many them.

The one thing people don’t seem to consider is nearly every Burnley game is on tv (let alone dodgy stream). Loads of people that might have gone on are probably thinking why bother I can watch from the living room and save the expense.

Strongly agree with this. The atmosphere is usually created when we attack and get the ball forward. We aren’t a team that does that a lot, very sporadically if we do. The passing between defenders is not only wasting our own time in the game but like you say it’s nullifying the crowd.

Under Coyle the turf was bouncing that season, under kompany the same, even dyche tactics would be getting balls in the box (Boro at home was incredible and we were in a similar position to that last night in terms of where we are in the league) . I know a lot of people who won’t go on because they say it’s boring.

haha, I buy my season tickets as do my parents, however they do get 2 free tickets for each game due to an important job they do for the club which is part of their contract, these are only received if requested in the week leading up to the game.
As I say, nobody has asked this season so they're often not even printed.

It's probably the other way round, those in better jobs can prioritise their work around going to football. Those of you who are dictated to when they work struggle for evening games

You are kind of defeating your own argument here. Those who are 'dictated to when they work' sums up the vast majority of those in employment.

Since you asked… we currently rank:

- 2nd for % of passes in a game in the oppositions final third vs our own third
- 4th for passes in the opponents half
But that isn't what I asked...

We did score 4 goals from 3 shots.
Why am I entitled? Am I not allowed to debate with the elite posters on here? Or will I be dismissed in a derogatory fashion because I have been attending matches home and away since 1959?

We had 16 shots against Luton and the highest xG in the entire league for that weekend.

If that is dire then maybe football isn’t for you.

I love Burnley football club as much as i have always done, but modern day football just doesn't interesst me as much as it used to. I still watch every game (using fully legal and above board means of course...) on TV and get to 4-5 games home and away a season but if it wasn't for Burnley existing i genuinely don't think i'd watch much football at all, particularly at the top level.

Firstly it's not 1 late bedtime, most of our home games this season are night matches. And secondly, what makes you assume that other people get back at 10 o'clock? I get home after midnight following night games.

To me it's not necessarily the passing, it's the lack of intensity and willingness to press high and aggressively as a team. Everytime I watch us it feels like we just meander through games without much really happening.
There was a moment towards the end yesterday where we'd finally played a more direct ball and the ball dropped but there was nobody looking to harry them on the 2nd ball. They just played out comfortably and took away all pressure.
It's why we have so many games where we don't look particular threatening, we are too happy too sit in a mid block without ever being really proactive in going to chase 3 points late on in fear of losing the 1 point.

As you say it's the polar opposite of the Coyle days in terms of atmosphere, probably because we knew he would risk it all for the 3 points and in the end those late wins are why we sneaked into the playoffs and eventually went up. Parker is a much better manager, but he does lack a certain spark, even when interviewed.

My partner whom is American used to watch us every game the last time in the Championship. She now doesn’t watch now she says it’s Boring and I have to agree with her, Yesterday’s game with West Brom looked like we was the away team, defending and hoping we could catch them on the break.
Don’t get me wrong West Brom was very well organized and are a good team. Our play is slow and predictable and that fell into West Brom’s hands.
Turf Moor should be a fortress but sadly teams go there knowing the have a good chance of getting something out of the game.
No excitement for the fans = No atmosphere

Just for balance, we're unbeaten at home this season.

Why have a ticket if you can't go
It’s called supporting the club my season ticket purchases provide a little revenue

I also pass my STs on to friends or family if I can’t attend not sure why I have to justify this to you mind ..

Unless they are under 6, 1 x 10 o clock bedtime won't hurt
I’m guessing you live on either Brunshaw Road or Belvedere Rd if you are able to get back and into bed by 10:15 after an evening game

I’m only at Brierfield and it was still 10:30 when I got home last night

Bloody hell. We'd been playing less than 20 minutes!
Doesn’t matter the fact still remains we did well against 10 men.

I've had the same issue all season, not one person has asked me for player comps this season that I often get through family.

I'm not convinced its all down to the style of football at all, I think folk are losing interest in football.
There's too much of it........there are games on practically every day.

So, so, so many of the champ games under VK played out similarly to the draws at home this year - we just had better players that could unlock tricky defenses.

We went two up top maybe once and that was late on against Rotherham.

The rest is just agenda driven. People are trying to make out like we were cocking about with the ball between the defence last night which is just nonsense. We were probing, just come up against a well-drilled side... it happens!

It's not about systems. Although I'm pretty sure VK went 2 up a lot more often than that.
It's about intent, for an example look at the goals v blackburn at home and how we swarmed all over them so they couldn't get out.

Teams aren't good enough t this level to escape from that pressure so end up either lumping it anywhere or losing possession in dangerous areas. Either way means we can build and sustain pressure.

This team reverts back to their shape way too easily and let's the opposition off the hook.

Under VK in the last 10 there would be wave after wave of pressure that led to a lot of late goals. A lot of the time its wave after wave of probing around the back under Parker. Created next to nothing 2nd half.

We might be unbeaten, which looks good on paper but the boring draws have cost us greatly,
I’ve been a supporter all my life and I’m finding it hard to watch the way we play, even late in the game Trafford is slowing down the game when we are at 1-1 as though he’s running the clock down
Frustrating!!!!
