Huge win

Post by Vegas Claret » Sat Mar 15, 2025 5:00 pm

Did what we needed to do, some really good individual performances and another clean sheet. Special mention for Josh Laurent who I thought was excellent. Looks an absolute bargain

Solid performance. Swansea had a fair bit of the ball for periods but they were well in the rear view mirror after the 2nd goal.

A bit sloppy on the ball today but his physicality was key in us controlling us the game. He also frees up Brownhill to play in comfortably his best position.

He gets some stick but if people can’t see why Parker constantly puts his faith in Anthony, they’re looking the wrong way. A constant threat with growing goal involvements. Absolutely love him

Yep. Great win and I am very very positive now. That's the first time we've taken the step having had the chance ro leapfrog with an earlier game.

Confident we have the mental strength and on the field I don't think there's anyone better

I think he's got better as the season has gone one, been our main threat for most of it. Another really good game from him today.

Be interesting to see how Sheffield Utd react tomorrow. Won’t it be the first time this season they’ve been chasing us?

I must admit I used to find him incredibly frustrating, and always wondered why he always got the full game when he wasn’t at his best. But last couple of months he has been consistently very good and today a toss between him and Laurent for mom. Really grown on me!

Great win today that.

When Laurent is good he is immense. When he's bad he's awful.

Seems to have no middle ground 🤣

Pretty much what the Stokies said when we signed him.

We must appear relentless to Leeds and Sheffield United. Which must be causing legs to wobble.

25 unbeaten.
11 conceded in 38.
3 conceded after half time in 38.
0 or 1 conceded in every game.

They must both feel we are constantly coming at them and waiting for them to crack.

We were excellent there today. The type of result after Leeds stuttered again is exactly what we needed.
Massive pressure on the Blades now tomorrow, and with that idiot Wilder in charge of a derby at Hillsborough I wouldn't be surprised if Wilder "over wound" his players up leading to stress and pressure mistakes.

We know he's all Blades, but he's also a loose canon and no good at pressure. Well he's got pressure now. Out of the autos and behind Burnley, we are arriving at exactly the right moment. Leeds stuttering we are still tight at the back and scoring week in week out.

We can win this league. Well done to Scott and lads today.

Betty than Robbie Blake, Glen little, Steven fletcher (yes his touch was fantastic) Steven defour, even zaroury I’d dare to say had an actual better touch (without the end product in the premier league) . Very wild statement that. David eyers another one, Inchy, Danny ings….. let’s not get silly

Missed the game today but whoever mentioned Anthony above is spot on. Grafts his backside off every game and has some quality about him, the more he plays consistently the better he will get. I like him, his touch is outrageous at times.

Amazing how quiet it is on here after a good game and a win. Mental to think we are only a draw away from people slating Parker.

We were fantastic today, Anthony has become one of our main men over the season and was very good. He could be better if he improved his final ball/shot but I think he's shown why Parker put the faith in him.

Anthony has broken 10 goals and assists for the season.

He’s really developing his final ball. Let’s hope it long continues

His first touch is sublime, without fail. CJ pings balls to him at all sorts of speeds and trajectories and whether he needs to pluck a ball out of the air or take a touch to spin an opponent it's an absolute joy to watch.

Let's not forget Josh Brownhill. Played in a more forward position, his goalscoring record is excellent. Yet again, in the right place at the right time today. It doesn't happen by accident.

Really happy for Anthony, who works hard for the team and comes across as a great lad. As mentioned above, his first touch in particular is sublime. I think Edwards coming into the team has helped as I think the oppo are looking to nullify him as the danger man which has perhaps freed up Anthony a little.

A few weeks ago Hugh Woozenccroft said that Leeds already had one foot back in the Premier League well they must have bloody big feet because after today’s results they aren’t guaranteed anything yet with our record we are the strongest of the top three Coventry City might be a test but we look really capable of winning all of our last 8 games. Our win today makes sure the other two are now under pressure, we’ll see what Sh Utd do against Sh Wed tomorrow
