Farke has confirmed Meslier has been dropped for Leeds' game this weekend. Strange time to make such a big decision, hopefully we can see what they do if Darlow messes up.

The flip side to that is if he makes a big mistake costing them the game it should, in theory, make promotion for us quite straightforward as they'd struggle to win many more games.

I think most managers would support their first choice goalkeeper for as long as possible. Farke has done this but now sees the need to make a change; I'm sure he will have discussed the situation with Meslier, it's a very big decision.

Darlow has hardly played for years, got a few games for Newcastle but he has had a career as a mainly reserve keeper. Factor in the difference in how teammates play it to you and how they instinctively know what to go for, this could go very wrong.

Of course I am living in hope. Both us and them have two very hard away games to come. Whoever wins both, should go up.

I was sure I’d watched a Leeds second keeper this season because I remember thinking to myself ‘bloody hell, he’s worse than Meslier… I can see why he keeps his place now”.

Just looked it up and he played in a 1:0 win over Harrogate and a 2:0 and 3:0 defeat to Milwall and Boro respectively.

Can’t actually remember watching any of those games apart from the Harrogate one, but 3 games and 2 defeats isn’t the best record.

Re Luton, they have won 3 in 5 now after a recent upturn, and Boro have won 4 in 6.

Yeah, appreciate they’ve been on a good run but I’d expect Leeds to beat them comfortably to be honest. There’s quite a gap between the top 3 and the rest in this league, I’d argue, and they have a bad defence which I doubt will contain Leeds’ attack - if we can knock 8 past them over two games it could be double figures for Leeds

Obviously keep my fingers crossed for a shock result.

I'm not sure he'll want Doughty knocking balls into the box for Adebayo and Morris!! It's an interesting time to make the change, and certainly shows a chink in the armour at Elland Road. This is a big call by Farke.

That was my thought, it's a shame to lose the sheer comedy value and chaos that Meslier brings an otherwise very good team. But Darlow is going to be very rusty. A decent keeper a while ago despite not racking up loads of appearances, but he's 34 now and definitely into that lovely niche period of a keeper's career where they sit on the bench and do the warm ups for a nice salary.
