Helmond to Burnley Charity Bike Ride
Gavin is doing a bike ride from Padiham FC to Helmond Sport starting om Sunday 4th May to raise funds for Casual Minds Matter based in Burnley.
My name is Gavin weir & I am the father of Ethan,Joshua, and Zachary, and I live in Thatcham, West Berkshire.
I have supported Burnley football club for over 40 years & have a 2nd team called Helmond Sport from the Netherlands where I visit annually to see friends.
I have set myself a huge challenge to cycle just under 500 miles which is to cycle (Burnley to Helmond I aim to arrive in Helmond on the 8th May Day before there last home game of the season and will be setting off from Burnley on the 4th may 2025.
My reasons for this challenge went back over 10 years ago, where I suffered mental health issues, which placed me at an extremely low point in my life where my world was in turmoil.
My outlet became cycling. Which got me out & and away into the countryside, which helped me to rehabilitate back from my mental health & onto the right path in my life.
This challenge means so much to me in many ways & I will be raising much needed funding for a fantastic group in Burnley called casual minds matter CIC who provide counselling mentoring help and support to individuals and families from all walks of life.
This group self funding and requires individual like myself and others to help raise support financially so they can their services free of charge.
If you would like to support casual minds matter CIC through my challenge, then please donate or, if possible, become individual sponsors to help advertise or provide support in many other ways.
If you need further information on how to support me in any way whatsoever, please don’t hesitate to contact Casual minds Matter CIC.

Good luck with that Gav, great cause.
Usually the Helmond lads come over for a game at the Turf, not sure if they've been yet this season.
