Alan Pace appreciation

I know some may not agree however, i feel Alan deserves an appreciation post.

I am sure much more can be added but two promotions, successfully bringing BFC into the 21st century with the social media marketing and bringing a global name like JJ Watt into the fold, letting cameras behind the scenes to give fans and a wider audience an insight into our club, improving the stadium in some ways and more importantly buying into the club and the town's history.

There are of course negatives like the relegations but we were punching above our weight with Dyche, Kompany rebuilt the feel good factor then ripped it apart and probably a few more that people will no doubt highlight but surely he has changed some people's opinions and has the backing of the majority of our fanbase.

Thanks Al and co. Hopefully we learn from mistakes made after our last promotion and have a successful 25/26 Premier League season.

How many other owners turn up to nearly every home game, wear the colours and even bring their newborn grandchildren to join in the promotion celebrations? He clearly cares deeply about the club (imo).

Funny though, didn't ALK look at buying Sheff U before they bought Burnley?

Im from an age where the programme said the only town team in the first Division pre premier division, Ive watched them fall and fall and the Orient game, as the years went by I thought id never see Burnley in the Top division different boards came and went and we nearly did on several occasions , then we did it and then went down thought that was it but no we got up again but eventually went down again then the last board had had enough and sold out to Alan, I dont think any board we have had wanted anything but good for our team just not the way to put the money in.
Alan Pace has done that and only time will tell how good or bad overall that will be. But fr now well done to him and his team, and his family for taking us to heart and wants to do well the ride with Burnley is always interesting to say the least UTC and again well done Alan

I’ve just finished watching Ted Lasso and pace reminds me of him a bit, albeit the chairman rather than the manager.

American comes in, says a lot of corny and schmaltzy things which British people (and certainly northern people) find a bit strange. I suppose for football fans it’s the natural scepticism of someone so happy and passionate, particularly regarding something they haven’t been born into. They haven’t experienced the crap.

But like In Lasso, Pace’s patter ends up winning people over because it seems genuine, and I think it is genuine. I think he’s a good man, father, husband, and chairman.


I won’t go on about the things I still have issues with (the danger the club was put under with the purchasing model), but I think it’s hard for anyone to disagree that Pace is doing a good job.

Agree with this. Still hate the way the club was bought, BUT he does seem to genuinely care about the club.

He’s uprooted his family and set down roots here. We could easily be owned by some foreign buyer who deals with the club at arms length.

And more importantly, I do this he’s learning. We’re seeing much less of the AI scout gimmicks and Britains underdog rubbish, and the transfer strategy (which I’m convinced Parker has had a say in), seems to have a bit more flexibility to it then just identifying cheap punts from abroad and hoping for the best.

I don’t want to get into the things I don’t like about the ownership group again because some posters just use it as an excuse to throw personal insults about.

He's absolutely engaged with the fans and the club, complete breath of fresh air compared to previous ownership.

Will always say hello and stop for a chat, talk to the kids. That passion showed during the celebrations.

I agree with posts about the way Alan Pace bought the club, my worries are based on not fully understanding how secured creditors etc work other than they get paid out first if the business goes into liquidation/ bancrupcy in other words his company will get paid back some or all they used to buy BFC.

But to be honest thats his business not mine, and while people allover say that directors are only custodians ,they arn't really they own the business but as a life long fan I trust that AP and co know more about what they are doing and if we have rides like we do then ill take the ride .

My daughter's have met him a couple of times in passing, photo op etc.. and he remembered their names the next time they came across him
