Not bad at all, compared to some of the buffoons we've had this season.

Outstanding today. Hardly noticed him, didn’t fall for the play acting from both sides, got the big decisions right, and was very calm.

Let loads go, missed a load that were bookings. They wanted a scrap and he was going to allow it. Quite a few were down to which players shouted loudest which generally involved three lads in United kits around him. Flemming copped a pasting. Called pen right. Distinctly average.

Thought he did OK from TV, didn't like the lack of advantage though when Flemming was in the process of putting Edwards through 1 on 1

Did okay, but also missed Flemming being dragged to the floor on a fair few occasions.

Couldn’t rate him well after he missed the foul on Edwards, see pic., that led to their equaliser and the pen for the foul on Flemming, see pic. Even though it was accidental the contact forced Flemmings leg into the other thereby tripping him.

Generally good but made vital errors that affected the game, the one that really wound me up live was the foul on Edwards before their goal. Let too much physicality go but on reflection it made for a great game. He was even handed.

I think he was pretty good if we are judging on the standards we have seen this season.
If we are rating him on ability though, he was awful.

I was under the impression that if a player is through and likely to set up a dangerous attack and is fouled then it's a booking.
Sheff U soon realised this wasn't the case with Webb and took advantage of it.

The image shows that the contact was outside the are anyway for the Fleming penalty claim. It was very similar to the first penalty Sunderland got against us earlier in the season. I was convinced that was an accidental coming together outside the area and not even a foul never mind a penalty, so I draw the same conclusion with this one.

I wish there were more refs like him. Let the physical stuff go, was fair to both teams, and didn't assume that any contact is a free kick. Overall seemed in control the whole time without being fussy.

As said, missed the foul on Edwards for their equaliser, stopped play for a foul when I think it was Edwards was put through and there was a cynical foul in the first half when we had the opportunity to break and our player was pulled back. First half Hannibal was thrown to the floor and he missed that, a throw in down by the BL/CF corner that clearly came off a Sheff Utd player and the throw in was given to them and the constant wrestling of Zian every time the ball was played up to him and allowed to play on. Would like to see the Flemming incident back for our first penalty claim as it looked a foul from my seat in the BL.

Overall I thought he had a decent game. Thought he missed a foul in build up to their goal, which watching back last night I think he did. The penalty shout on Flemming was a coming together, and ultimately it was outside the area so not a penalty. The lad Peck should have gone in the book, especially when Pires picked up a yellow for far less, but that aside I thought he had a decent game.

He was ok(ish) but missed quite a few things, got a few things wrong ( one being a corner for us in the 1st half which was given as a goal kick ) but more infuriatingly tried to play an advantage to us after a foul but then didn't pull play back after virtually immediate interceptions which saw Sheffield Utd gain possession, this happened more than once too

Missed the first penalty and was so embarrassed he had to award the second. Missed or ignored the serial tackles on Flemming with the Blades defender trying to swop shirts when Zian was still wearing it.

I've come to assume that pulling on shirts - most especially Zian Flemming's - is acceptable under Championship rules?

VAR really doesn't help Burnley: When we're in the Championship and one of the skillful/faster teams it isn't there to help us, but once back in the Premiership when we're more often the side playing catch-up and needing to employ those little tugs, trips and pushes, we're doing so under its all-seeing eye. :(

Slightly surprised by some of the high scores.
On balance he had a decent game in terms of decision making, but IMO he allowed way too much dissent from the outset and I think he was a bit fortunate that there weren't really any contentious decisions to make in the 2nd half, because my HT prediction was that his failure to impose himself could lead to things boiling over in the 2nd half.

Good call with outside the area. I’d missed that.
